He hasn't proven anything, though.Duck24 wrote:Phenom wrote:Why Vrabel? He's only been DC one year and his defense was dead last in PPG.
In his defense, that D was decimated with injuries and suspensions. Not saying he’s the right guy but some clarification to his D performance.

Vrabel just got named the new Titans HC. His most important hires will be OC and/or QB coach.

Football Scoop Tennessee Titans: Ohio State co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Ryan Day is considering joining Mike Vrabel’s new staff as offensive coordinator, per a tweet from Adam Schefter.
According to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN Ryan Day played under Chip Kelly at New Hampshire, then began his coaching career under him at UNH. Kelly hired Day to be his QB coach in PHI, SF.

That could help clean up a load of Mularkey!maxduck wrote:Football Scoop Tennessee Titans: Ohio State co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Ryan Day is considering joining Mike Vrabel’s new staff as offensive coordinator, per a tweet from Adam Schefter.

This flies directly in the face of what I said above but posting it anyways. Shannon Sharpe is a douchecanoe but he has a good point here:

Yeah just ignore the injuries to Watt and Mercilus, not resigning Bouye and the short field from turnovers.Duck24 wrote:This flies directly in the face of what I said above but posting it anyways. Shannon Sharpe is a douchecanoe but he has a good point here:
I see this in the same light we saw Scott Frost where he's a HC type more than a coordinator.

There is still no reason they should have been dead last in defense. Even if they had been middle of the road I would have said that he didn't have the quAlifications after 1 year.

I'm not impressed with the hire, we'll have to see if he is smart enough to use Mariota correctly.

So Day is staying at Ohio State instead of becoming the new OC for the Titans.

They should go after Haley for OC. He's a solid OC and would be good for Marcus. From everything I've read he had a great relationship with Ben in Pittsburg, not so much with Tomlin.
Nevermind I see he's going to waste 3 yrs of his career in the cesspool that is Cleveland.

Haley's offense was actually subpar considering who he had at his disposal.

Subpar in rushing maybe, but 3rd in total offense an 3rd in passing offense. I think most teams would take a coordinator that could deliver 3rd in the league in total offense.Phenom wrote:Haley's offense was actually subpar considering who he had at his disposal.
