I thought it was interesting that White chose Elish to go instead of Pac-12 pitcher of the year Kleist -- not that there was going to be any "wrong" decision. Kleist goes this afternoon.

I kind of expected it. The second game would likely be against the best opposing team in the region. Win that and you're in control and guaranteed you have a fairly fresh Kleist in a must win 4th game should you drop the third.Greenblood wrote:I thought it was interesting that White chose Elish to go instead of Pac-12 pitcher of the year Kleist -- not that there was going to be any "wrong" decision. Kleist has either a no-hitter or a perfect game going through five innings of work, not sure which but either would be pretty awesome

Lauren Burke gets her second pinch-hit homerun in as many days to make it 4-0 Ducks.

I got home from the gym and so I'm able to find a box score, and yep, Kleist has a perfect freaking game through six innings. Drake's about to come up for the 7th, we'll see if she can pull it off.

Ducks win 5-0, will play the winner of Drake/Albany tomorrow. If they win tomorrow, either in game one or an if-necessary game two, they'll advance to the super regional.
