Softball: Eugene Regional (Thur 5:30)
Second time this season she was 1 out away from a perfect game. I blame the announcer for talking as if the perfect game was a done deal before that single. Also, the ump calling that next batter hit was total BS, if she lost her perfect game from that the crowd would destroy that ump.

The home plate umpiring in these games so far has been less than impressive. Strike zones are all over the place and not just from umpire to umpire, but from batter to batter it seems.

Oregon with 3 runs so far in the top of the 5th but should have another after a bad call at home by the ump.

Ducks win 3-0 and advance to the super regionals. They'll play on Thursday or Friday against an opponent to be named.

Along with the call at home, also had trouble distinguishing between fair or foul down both lines. No worries though, Ducks advance 3-0, outscoring their opponents:12-0. Arizona, Oklahoma, Arkansas, LSU & Baylor have gone unscored on through two games.greenyellow wrote:Oregon with 3 runs so far in the top of the 5th but should have another after a bad call at home by the ump.

Yeah, if there is some sort of committee that grades these umpires in order to determine which umps advance to work in the later rounds of the tournament, I think it is safe to say the bozo behind the plate today will be permanently benched. Since that concept makes too much sense and takes too much effort, I fully expect to see bozo in action again shortly.Merganzer wrote:Along with the call at home, also had trouble distinguishing between fair or foul down both lines.
Go Ducks!
