Red Sox down 3-1 get 4 runs to take 5-3 lead, give up one in eighth to have 5-4 lead going into the ninth. Kimbrel gives up a homer in the ninth to Smoak to tie, then Moreland hits a three run homer and JBJ a two run homer for a 10-5 lead. Toronto hits a two run homer in the bottom of the tenth, but Red Sox get a big comeback win 10-7!!!

Mookie hits for the cycle. Mookie or Trout for MVP. Sox lose game 2 to the Jays, 8 games ahead of that second place  team.

boston gets down 8-3, but the offense goes crazy and wins 19-13. JBJ 3 more hits and 4 runs scored, he hitting the ball a lot more the last four to six weeks. Mookie a 3 run double, Andrew and Xander both with a three run homer and J.D. a two run single to give him a MLB lead 101 RBI's.

Red Sox shut out the O’s 5-0. JBJ heating up, 2 HR’s in the first game of a doubleheader. Sox win nightcap 6-4, J.D. Martinez hits two more home runs and has 3 RBI for a total of 104 on the year. That second place team wins as well but Boston gains another half game in the standings, now lead by 9.5 games. Sox are now 49 games over .500. One more game with the worst team in baseball and then a day off before two games in Philly. "That's all they do over there is win." Manager of the second place team in the AL East. :D

50 games over 500 now, seven teams don't even have 50 wins for the season. This team is insane, will be interesting to see how they hit vs top pitching come the playoffs.

Sox end only their second 3 game losing streak beating Cleveland’s ace as their bats come alive for a 10-4 win. That second place team loses so the lead in the AL East is at 9 games. 34 games to go. Boston on pace to win 105+ games.

Red Sox have clinched a playoff spot. Now 101-46. 10.5 games ahead of that second place bunch. 15 games to go Sox need to win 5 more to break their all time record number of wins for a season. Bring on the playoffs!

If they run the table, they'll tie the 2001 Mariners.
