Loudest game at Autzen
What's the loudest most raucous crowd you've been a part of?

Re: Loudest game at Autzen
I went to all the games in the 07 season, and I think Cal was the loudest game that year but USC and ASU were close.
USC in 09 would be very near the top for me. We desperately wanted to put 50+ on them but Chip called off the dogs at the end. Scared Pete to the NFL.

USC 2009 for sure, Halloween Night, before true fans were priced out and the student section was rowdy and cared and didn’t just got for the social experience. There were a few close games but that one to me was the loudest.

'07-09 were ridiculous. Hard to say which was the loudest because it was so consistently deafening.
I attribute the drop-off in crowd noise to there being a different group of people in the stands - wealthier non-students, more out-of-state students who don't have the same allegiance to the team and its history, entitlement that came with wins, and inferior product because of how often the game was over by halftime.

Re: Loudest game at Autzen
2003-2005 had some consistently loud crowds too. That game against Cal when the lights went out was really fun and I've got a bunch of saved photos of myself and friends in the bottom rows of the student section after Oregon would score or pre-game when we'd try to invite all the recruits into the student section and chant their names. Knowing more about Eversen Griffen I know why he was so shy about the whole thing now.
Loudest Road Crowd might have to be the game at Michigan when a good portion of Ducks started a "Who's House?" "Our House" chant in Ann Arbor. lol

October 22, 1994, against Washington. Particularly toward the end of the game.

Re: Loudest game at Autzen
Mine is 2003 Michigan hands down
runner ups in chronological order
2000 UCLA
2006 Oklahoma
2007 Cal, USC (ASU wasn't on par IMO)
2009 USC (even though Civil War was for the Roses, it didn't sniff that SC game... I mean it was halloween)
2014 Michigan State
While all but the UCLA game are post-expansion, I'd take the pre-expansion atmosphere any day. That's when the reputation was built, it has been inconsistent since.

I was there, managing a bunch of teenagers in a concession stand.pdxmallard wrote:October 22, 1994, against Washington. Particularly toward the end of the game.
There were a bunch of obnoxious UW fans immediately in front of our location on the northeast rim.
They were strangely silent as "Kenny Wheaton's Gonna SCORE" became the rallying cry for Duck fans everywhere.
Those DUCKS? Not so quiet!

I wasn't at UCLA 2000, but otherwise your list is exactly what mine would look like lol.Juice wrote:Mine is 2003 Michigan hands down

UCLA 2013 was also pretty loud too. That was a solid UCLA team, and it took a strong 2nd half for us to pull away. Our D was dominating, which naturally feeds the crowd.
