m's win 9-7, making march 20th the first and last time they'll be over .500 this year.

Re: Seattle Mariners 2019
m's are in kind of a weird spot right now because a lot of the young guys we brought into the organization in the offseason aren't ready yet/we've got some vets that we'd like to showcase for mid-season trades. so we can't even enjoy a full-blown youth movement yet (post-AS break could be another story). but of our position players, i'm focusing most on ryon healy and domingo santana. we know what guys like haniger and gordon are bringing, but healy and santana are interesting pieces that could stick around for awhile if they continue to develop.
santana murdered a baseball in the 3rd last night (this morning?) for a go-ahead grand slam. we got santana for relatively cheap (gamel and a minor leaguer) from milwaukee because the brewers had an abundance of ML-ready outfielders. in his only season w/ 500 ABs (2017 -- he had 607 plate appearances) he hit 30 HRs (8th in WAR among ML right fielders). he's only 26, and fits in with seattle's projected rebuild path. can he develop into a consistent corner outfield option for us?
healy took a step backwards last year (as one does when one becomes a mariner) but he's got decent tools. he needs to tighten up his approach at the plate and shore up the holes in his swing. he'll get plenty of opportunities with seager out for extended time.

Bases loaded for the Mariners, hit to the SS, throws to 2b, gets the runner at 2nd, but too late for the DP at 1st, run scores for the Mariners, lead 5-4.

Re: Seattle Mariners 2019
Mariners win. Maybe not, A's claim final out is off the wall. But the review shows that Santana caught the ball cleanly, Mariners sweep, 2-0.

Mariners make it 3-0 to start the season, bashing Boston, 12-4. Boston had a 2-0 lead, but with 3 in the 2nd, Seattle took over. 5 home runs for the Mariners, 2 by Tim Beckham, solo's for Santana, Encarnacion, and former Duck, Ryon Healy.
