Or, Acega-Whiteside for jump balls in the end zone.GrandpaDuck wrote:Which Costello do we get? He is so streaky, can be a Manning one game and throw like me the next. Actually it can flip like that at half time. Fortunately, he has no Love or McCaffery to lean on, so if he is off their offense will be toast.

I think we win by three TDs. 40 something to 20 something.

For those who think we win by 3 touchdowns or so am curious what that is based on. I hope that you are right. I am curious though given our lack of offensive output on the road where people get that idea. Is it the duck colored glasses are wearing or do you base it on something other than just hoping are right about the offense. I think we should win by 17 but think with Arroyo as our OC we probably only win by 3 or 4. He has not shown the ability to adjust to what defensive adjustments teams make at half time to Oregon.

Scoring 40 on the road against the Eastern Sisters of Perpetual Sorrows Community College would be an achievement. If we do hit 40, I will compose a Klingon Opera in honor of your prognostication.GoDucksTroll wrote:I think we win by three TDs. 40 something to 20 something.

That Stanford blows and Arroyo isn't anywhere near as bad as you make him out to be.GoDucksIn09 wrote:For those who think we win by 3 touchdowns or so am curious what that is based on. Stanford seats 50k, 25k will be duck fans. Not a true road game.

Are Oregon’s road woes a result of opposing fans or just the fact that they aren’t at Autzen? I’ve gotten the impression that the issue stems from simply not being at home and as a result, out of their comfort zone and routine.buckmarkduck wrote:StevensTechU wrote:Folks are expecting a beatdown, but what they're not considering is that this is the first true road game of the year. When is the last time we had a Stanford QB have a bad game against us? They always seem to play lights out against the ducks.GrandpaDuck wrote:Which Costello do we get? It's not true either. Our issues with our offense in some games last year was that we got off to slow starts and got better at half time.OregonFan4Life wrote:And I thought I was critical of Arroyo.GoDucksIn09 wrote:For those who think we win by 3 touchdowns or so am curious what that is based on. Outside of Oregon state, when was the last road game we scored more than 8 points both halves? The Utah, Washington State, and Arizona games, by the time they did anything we were so far behind the game was not competitive. I don't have any rose colored glasses on. Oregon does that against Stanford, and it will likely cost them the game, just as it has the other road games they have all lost. The lone exception would be Michigan State.

Obviously I hope that we don't score say 3 points in the first half against Stanford, but I do think that our defense is a good bit better than it was last year. I think it's possible, if not likely that we see some 20-14 type games with: Stanford, Cal, UW and Arizona State.

I can't remember the last time I was confident in our defense against Stanford. But I think our D will be solid again.
