New Season and recruiting.
Looks like Lombardi has done another good job of recruiting, including a top pitcher(#15 recruit). I know they won't be available this year. There should be a great improvement over last with this years additions. Catcher=Mcgowan, dp=Carlson(she's a hitting machine) lf=? rf=Galey? Rest of team same as last year. Pitching will definitely improve with more depth.

Looking forward to the Ducks becoming consistent contenders again in softball. With everything the program has going for it, there is really no excuse for that not to happen in the near future.

According to Flo, Oregon is the top ranked PAC12 class, followed by UW, at #9, and ASU, at #12.
#9 Oregon
Nos. 15, 31, 32
And then there's Texas...
#19 Texas
Nos. 33, 88

Looks like Oregon is the 2nd best Pac-12 recruiting class, as Arizona is at #3. Still not a bad haul after the year they had this past season.

Re: New Season and recruiting.
It seems like it is # of recruits that matters. I think recruiting to needs is more important. Last year Makena K. was #28 or 31 recruit but ranked #3 pitcher. Reagan? B is #15 recruit, but, what is her rank as a pitcher. Her stats are pretty awesome. We need more power hitters. This year we add Ariel C. and Terra Mc. Also Dejilah? P. and Valerie W. Of course, I could have recruited Ariel to UO. She was never going anywhere else. Point is I like what ML is doing so far.greenyellow wrote:Looks like Oregon is the 2nd best Pac-12 recruiting class, as Arizona is at #3. If Coach Lombardi can repeat what Coach Altman did, that is improve WL record each year for five consecutive years and obtain the awards that result, color me elated. I think she will.

After fielding a competitive team with an empty cupboard of a roster, I will be surprised if she doesn't build a top team in time after the work she and the players put in last year.panamaslim wrote:If Coach Lombardi can repeat what Coach Altman did, that is improve WL record each year for five consecutive years and obtain the awards that result, color me elated. I am still impressed what Coach did last year. This season might be a joy.

Like she said, this year she can play her card(coach). Last year she didn't have a card. Last years team was special.rockthief wrote:I am still impressed what Coach did last year. This season might be a joy.

Team was pretty inspiring last year on how hard they worked and gave an effort. Can't wait to see what happens this year.
