Diving into TC Data
Thought I would do a quick article on how the TC went down for teams this offseason while we await the new year.
I wanted to look by team and by player who performed the best so lets dive in.
Our boys performed the best this offseason. This makes a lot of sense as we have the youngest average age in the league by almost a full year. The next two teams are 3rd and 2nd respectively in average age. As we all know, age and more importantly potential is what determines how TC goes (along with some luck).
So lets look at Team Age vs. Average Changes in Rating
As you can see, this is pretty sharp decline in the age of a team and how they do in TC. Makes sense.
Lets see how potential affects the amount of boost or decline someone has.
Pretty steady decline when you go down in potential. Having A potential gives you a much higher ceiling than the rest. With B, C, or D it seems the ceiling is similar but B is much more likely to hit this ceiling.
And finally lets look at how different age groups perform.
Seems like under 25 is the real sweet spot for development. I probably could have grouped 25-32 together as they performed identical. Then there is a real decline when you hit your 30s.
Now I wanted to see the best performers by player.
Jason Kidd PG 21 C+ B- B C+ D A
Jason Kidd PG 21 C+ B A- B D+ A
+1 Outside, +2 Handles, +2 Defense, +1 Rebounding
Insane TC here from Kidd, I'm really regretting not taking him at 1. Upgrades in all key categories for a Outside PG, you can't ask for much more
Melvin Booker PG 22 C+ C B- C+ D+ A
Melvin Booker PG 22 C+ C+ A- B- D+ A
+1 Outside, +3 Handles, +1 Defense
Getting +3 Handles in the first TC while keeping A potential, Booker looks to be an amazing pick for the Twolves. If his defense can continue to improve he will be in a top 5 PG in no time.
Curtis Blair PG 24 C B- B B- C- A
Curtis Blair PG 24 C+ B B B C A
+1 Inside, +1 Outside, +1 Defense, +1 Rebounding
Great TC from Blair. The increases in Inside and Out should translate to some increase in scoring. He still has a ways to go to become a viable PG. With A potential still, I am hopeful that he can become a good starting PG in this league.
Bobby Hurley PG 23 C C+ B- B D A
Bobby Hurley PG 23 C C+ B+ A- D A
+2 Handles, +2 Defense
Amazing TC for a young PG. These are the two categories you wanna see increases in from your PG. He should take a major step this season. The Kings have Kidd as well so Hurley may not see as much time as he deserves this season.
Zeljko Rebraca C 22 C+ D+ C- C+ C+ A
Zeljko Rebraca C 22 C+ D+ C- B- B+ A
+1 Defense, +3 Rebounding
Another fantastic TC in all the categories you want. Rebraca looks like he will be a rebounding machine. If the defense continues to improve, he will be an All Star in no time.

Re: Diving into TC Data
Not only was my team the only negative growth team under average age 26.... there also wasn't another one under age 27.
A truly impressive garbage performance for the ages

You need some new engineers if they can't even handle Paretos lolUOducksTK1 wrote:Do you want to do our Pareto charts for our applications engineers at my work? Lol

Dude sometimes you’d be amazed at how much a company can struggle at basic things.Craig wrote:You need some new engineers if they can't even handle Paretos lolUOducksTK1 wrote:Do you want to do our Pareto charts for our applications engineers at my work? Lol
