He seemed like he could have been in the rotation at DT. I would guess Harmon is likely now

Yeah that would make sense.. Because outside of the two projects starters (Caldwell and Ware-Hudson), Oregon's tackle positions feel pretty open and full of FR/SO. I do think A'Mauri Washington is starting to step into the next man up. And good things have been said of Tionne Gray too, so perhaps they feel like they're being passed on the Depth Chart.

Roberts transferring probably means Oregon goes hard after Harmon now.

Please correct this because it is probably not accurate. Doing a quick research, I appears Oregon has 85 scholarships to use and are currently at 87. Can anyone confirm or correct the numbers, thanks

Nobody really can anymore due to NIL. How many of the transfers and specialists are on scholarship rather than just getting their school costs and more being paid by other means?

Exactly. It used to be very easy to pinpoint exactly how many players were on scholarship at each position, the overall scholarship count, etc. Unless you have inside information within the program, it is a guessing game now. I have heard some say that most (if not all?) of the specialists are on NIL deals rather than scholarships. Some say Jay Harris is the same type deal, others say the same for Connor Soelle. Who knows? I guess it doesn't matter if we do.

Any idea of how many players are on the roster as of the spring game or now? I saw one text from a USC honk complaining about the Ducks having over 100 players on the roster. It makes sense with what I have learned about NIL money and scholarships.

You can just go to the website and add up the players they list on the spring roster. It doesn't really provide much insight in terms of who is actually on scholarship though. I also don't know if having 100 players on the roster is that noteworthy.....walk-ons have always pushed the number well above 85.

85 scholarship + 30 walk-ons for a 115 man roster. Not sure what the B1G travel roster limits are but we can safely assume that adhering to yearly scholarship allotments is not a problem for our compliance department and that NIL means the quality of "walk-ons" is raised with players like Jay Harris among them.

Yeah. I’m not 100% sure Jay Harris is on scholarship. It might board for from NIL.

It is a bit ironic that the rise of Oregon football in the 1990s coincided with the then recently imposed scholarship limits. Now Oregon's NIL money gives them the advantage traditional football powers had prior to the limits.

Yes, back in the day, traditional well funded powers would hoard talent and have better players riding the pine than teams like Oregon could put on the field.
