Sherfy's slider is nasty. Solid win. Was really impressed with Thorpe's composure too.
Does the team have any good hitting recruits coming in next year?
The pitching seems to be the team's strength, but they don't have much power. Fortunately, they have some guys who have pretty good plate discipline and are capable of drawing a walk.

Re: Ducks Baseball Postseason Thread (Super Regional)
that depends on whether or not carson kelly chooses us or the st. louis cardinals.
we still won't be built on power next year, but we will return (at minimum, barring unforeseen transfers) 7 of our 9 starters in the lineup, so we should, at least, improve. if aaron jones comes back (sounds like horton said he likely won't?) all the better.
i have very high hopes for the potential of shaun chase, personally.

Re: Ducks Baseball Postseason Thread (Super Regional)
the good news is that if gold can just give us a solid 4 or 5 innings, housey hasn't been used once this series and is fully capable of bridging the gap to thorpe and the sherfster. he can throw 3 innings, easy. and, since its win-or-go-home, if horton feels its necessary sherfy might be asked make another extended appearance. no use in saving him, i mean, as long as his arm is able.
kent state's starter tomorrow looks more like a power arm than what we saw today; his numbers look pretty feast-or-famine. his K numbers look good, but he's also prone to some free passes and he's been tagged more than k-state's other two guys. if we can work counts into our favor, we should be able to sit on fastballs and make something happen. in theory. it's also possible he overpowers us and we feebly strike out 13 times. we have a weird team.

Horton could also use Keudell is needed for an
inning and Tessar could be available also. This is like
a game seven in the world series. Have to pull out all
the stops in this game. Hold nothing back. Go Ducks

Sherfy and Thorpe were killing on the mound. Reed pitched exceptional as well. Kent State is tough though, game 3 is going to be close again.

Re: Ducks Baseball Postseason Thread (Super Regional)
Haven't seen any Duck baseball this year until the Super-Regional. Gotta say I'm really getting sucked in.
Aside from a wobbly 3rd or 4th inning yesterday, Reed was outstanding. The kid from Kent St. (Boser?) was killing it as well.
Should be a great one today. Will definately be leaving the office early to watch.

I haven't watched too many games this season either, but aside from the lack of offense it doesn't seem the ducks have much team speed either. Let's go ducks!!

Check fromsport, frontrowsports (or is it first row?) and Atdhe. Google those. If you're a student you can use vpn to connect to campus and then watch on espn3Autzenoise wrote:I have had zero luck finding streams for these games...anyone else?

Anybody else really hate watching the Ducks spot an early lead? Oregon down 1-0, after 1 inning.

Gold makes me nervous on the mound. I had a feeling before the game started that Kent State would be all over him. Seems to look that way early on...

Gold isn't going to last long... Bases loaded/no outs in the second.

And a promising 4th inning at the plate ends with one stranded runner.
