If Heezy and Pistol both send 400 PMs though do we just make all their players 99 ratings

1 per season? Also, how would we track that league wide

What advantage is there to moving a player to a position (ex. PF to SF) as opposed to playing the PF at the SF position?

Defense could change

There are negatives to position changes.

For example, if Scottie Pippen was SG eligible and you officially changed him to SG I believe the game caps SG rebounding at like 65 so keeping his official position as SF but playing him at SG would be better

Their defensive rating is "re-calculated" with the position change, since the ratings of different attributes are weighted differently for defense at each listed position (e.g., post defense/shot blocking is not nearly as relevant for perimeter positions).

Moving a guy positions also impacts how the game pulls off your bench for injuries and foul trouble I believe, since it uses positions in determining who to sub if it's going off the depth chart.

Thanks. Is this stuff documented anywhere?

There are also hard caps to a few stats based on position. Increasing handling caps as you move from C to PG and rebounding caps for PG and SG(less with SG). There are no caps for SF as far as im aware. I believe you could have a maxed out player in all categories at SF, this is not true for any other position.

^ If you move a SF to SG and then back again can't it hold his ratings at the SG spot?

If you for example moved scottie pippen from SF to SG, it would likely lower his rebounding numbers as part of the move. Unless manually corrected, they are not restored if moved back. There are the fewest caps overall (not sure if any) for the SF position.

The main way that this impacts the gameplay is for players like Jason Kidd who are rebounders from the PG position, The game engine makes their rebounding number inherently lower. Kidd and Magic should be SG or even SF (in the case of magic) who are PG eligible. If you do not you will run into the issues of capping off their rebounding.

^ what about if magic is played as super sub and plays SF? You think it’s still better if he’s listed as SF?

The critical phase is during development years. Once hes full grown 4-5 yrs in it really doesn't matter so long as you don't move a SF down to SG or a PG elli SF/SG to PG.
