Both runs scored got on base on a HBP. C'mon Gold, we can't afford that.

Gold's 3rd lead-off HBP. Sigh.

Gold just isn't a Sunday-quality starter; he's more of a mid-week game or reliever type. It's too bad that they don't have Tessar anymore.

Is there any chance Tessar comes back during the playoffs?greenyellow wrote:Gold just isn't a Sunday-quality starter; he's more of a mid-week game or reliever type. It's too bad that they don't have Tessar anymore.

i don't disagree re: gold, but at the same time if you told me he could get to the 5th and only give up 2 runs i'd probably take it in this scenario. for what he's capable of, he's actually been extraordinary the last month. today's all about yet another anti-clutch performance by the offense.

I thought he needed some shoulder surgery that would keep him out the rest of the year. It's quite amazing what the staff has been doing this season with them being so shorthanded (Jones, Wiper, Clayton, and now Tessar).RanDux wrote:Is there any chance Tessar comes back during the playoffs?greenyellow wrote:Gold just isn't a Sunday-quality starter; he's more of a mid-week game or reliever type. Re: Oregon @ Oregon State (3 game weekend series)
The offense has just been plain s*** this weekend and not all that spectacular the remaining weeks. The Ducks really don't have a lineup with several hitters that pitchers must fear. I sure hope that Horton can address this next year with some better recruits and more off-season work with his hitters.oregontrack wrote:i don't disagree re: gold, but at the same time if you told me he could get to the 5th and only give up 2 runs i'd probably take it in this scenario. for what he's capable of, he's actually been extraordinary the last month. today's all about yet another anti-clutch performance by the offense.

He gave up only 3 hits. The problem was the 3 HBPs and the 3 walks.oregontrack wrote:i don't disagree re: gold, but at the same time if you told me he could get to the 5th and only give up 2 runs i'd probably take it in this scenario. for what he's capable of, he's actually been extraordinary the last month. today's all about yet another anti-clutch performance by the offense.

Bunting ourselves right out of a Pac-12 title.

Yep, having Warren in CF instead really downgrades the hitting.oregontrack wrote:we've really missed thomas this weekend.

The bunting has been horrendous this weekend and I bet Horton can't be all that happy about that either since that part of the game is what is supposed to set Oregon apart.nogerO wrote:Bunting ourselves right out of a Pac-12 title.
