Ducks may add another transfer
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/b ... index.html
Former Rice star Arsalan Kazemi told SI.com that he's likely to decide on a transfer destination by the end of the week, and that while he's considering a number of options, Oregon and Kentucky are his "early leaders."
Oregon is the lone school on Kazemi's list that has yet to start fall classes -- its first day is Sept. 24 -- and thus may be his most attractive option if he pursues a hardship waiver to play immediately.

Averaged 12 and 10 last year...not bad. So he would essentially be another Olu with one year to play?

Interesting guy so maybe another good reason for Altman to always keep a scholarship or two open after the main recruiting periods.

Reported he will decide by the end of the week. Found this breakdown on a Kentucky site, nice rebounding stats.

"Kentucky just so happens to be one of his early favorites, alongside Oregon." (Interesting choice of words by the author...)
"If he were to eventually suit up as a Wildcat he wouldn’t be a star or get many touches, as we have many high level scorers coming in who will fill those flashy roles, but he would be someone to guide the team with his Senior experiences and blue-collar mentality."

If we get Kazemi, then our depth gets even better. Apparently we may be the front-runner due to being in a quarter system, and I expect a decision very soon from him.
Going to miss the Maehl Man

A sliver of new information from Bob Clark at the RG, apparently the Mongrels of Montlake have entered the picture.

The only thing left to answer is if he'll can play this year? He's applying for a hardship waiver to be eligible next year but he hasn't released what grounds he going to argue for it. He's going to help Oregon's depth whenever he's eligible.

Former Rice forward Arsalan Kazemi has enrolled at Oregon and will be in class for the first day of the fall quarter Monday in Eugene, a source with direct knowledge told ESPN.com Sunday.

So what year is this kid? It looks like he didn't play last year. Did he redshirt?greenyellow wrote:The only thing left to answer is if he'll can play this year? Very nice pickup. Kazemi is an athletic guy and an excellent rebounder. He's also a pretty solid defender.
Best case scenario: he's eligible this season and provides tremendous depth. He would essentially be replacing Olu in the role of the versatile, athletic big off the bench who is a capable rebounder and defender.
Another positive thing about this addition is that it gives Dominic Artis another athletic finisher.

Senior, and he did play last year. From his bio on the Rice official site...Boom wrote:So what year is this kid? It looks like he didn't play last year.
