Re: Vanderbilt @ Oregon (Friday 8pm pst)
Kedren Johnson had 25-6-6 in his first game, looks like a beast. Kyle Fuller is their other starting guard who could score and pass very well also. Kevin Bright is a freshman out of Germany who scored 15 points and grabbed 8 boards (3 for 3 behind the arc).
So basically their backcourt looks young, but VERY talented. Their front court on the other had is not only inexperienced, but none of them played very well in their opening game. They had only 32 rebounds (5 off) against Nicholls State.
Oregon has some bigs who need to rebound and score, also it helps to have forwards like Emory, Singler, and Dotson who all rebound exceptionally well. I think Oregon wins this game with rebounding and getting some easy baskets in the paint. This will be a good test for our perimeter defense. Vandy has some scorers and could get hot from outside. If they win, it's because of their shooting.

No, they lost everyone last year. They are very young.Phenom wrote:Is Vandy ranked?

I think he graduated since he was in the same recruiting year as Garrett Sim coming out of high school.TheMaehlMan wrote:They still have Tinsley, right?

Gonna miss the game due to traveling, but I'm pretty excited for this matchup. Vandy is nothing like they were last year, but they have some quality young talent. It'll be a good win, if the Ducks can pull it off.
I really think Dotson and Artis have big games.

Here's hoping Kazemi lives up to his billing.

Re: Vanderbilt @ Oregon (Friday 8pm pst)
I really love the potential of this team. I feel they have at least 2 players at each position, that truly can play that position. I still see a lot of things this team needs to work on if they want to compete for a Pac-12 championship, but if they work hard they'll get there. Their screen defense needs help, they've got a bunch of skill on offense, but sometimes execute screens and cuts very poorly. I do have high expectations for this team, but it will be a while until they hit their peak. I love their man to man defense. Unfortunately screens seem to be quite effective on them, but better communication which hopefully will come in time can fix this.

The movement on offense is horrible now. Their plays are getting predictable, and it's showing with how well Vanderbilt is defending it right now.

Singler is really having trouble with his free throw shooting so far compared to last year.

I'm LOVING this zone defense right now! Great defense! This team is looking good so far!
