Re: Texas State @ Oregon (2 game series Tues-Wed)
Gold seems ready to resume taking the ball first for any mid-week game (or series), no?
The Beavs pounded TSU 16-4 in the first game and then won the next two like mere mortals, 6-3 and 6-4. Beavs were probably going with their weekend starters whereas the Ducks will go 4-5.
Might we look for TSU's starter from Game 1 in Corvallis, assuming he didn't get overworked in the blowout?
After the sOS Beaver series, the Bobcats stand at 5-10 with a win over Houston (but dropping the series 2-1). They also lost to Baylor - no other teams stand out as worthy adversaries on the schedule thus far.

Re: Texas State @ Oregon (2 game series Tues-Wed)
i doubt we'll see their friday starter on such short notice, he went a full five on friday (and got shelled) and that's a pretty short turnaround. they'll probably want him to start next friday.
if he's healthy i would imagine jones would go tomorrow and try to throw at least 4-5 innings. it'd get him some work and still let him come back for some relief work this weekend @ sc. if his shoulder is still tightening up on him, gold tomorrow and whomever wednesday (wiper, spencer, maybe even tessar).

Sherfy closes, Ducks win 4-3. Yikes, pretty close game though.

Ugh it's hard to watch when Wiper is pitching. 3-0 in the 2nd already with 6 hits?
Come on, get him out of the starting rotation.

we're not going to need a 5th starter again until may 1. this is likely the last we've seen of him for quite some time.

Ya but might as well give someone else a chance to start the tuesday/wednesday games..
Two runs in the 3rd, one from a balk, the other from a passed ball.
