And one thing I have to add here is, while pot can increase, (the legend of Etienne Preira proves this) pot tends to decrease by 10 each year to a player with max pot will only have a strong chance of improveing in his first 5 years. This means the strongest development phase is in a player's first 4 years.

So what about all the guys that we have in right now that it's their first year in the game even though they're 25 or 27, should we expect them to have a few years, or not expect much?

So if he gets drafted at 21. He develops until roughly 25. Then usually 3-5 years of neutral. I think you start seeing declines by 29-30. But again, everyone is different. Really hard to say.

And age plays a factor. Premade players, like what we will see in the upcoming class who have only average to poor potential will hold their ratings for some time. I once drafted a B+ A- C B+ C D player (probably 50s pot) and he held his ratings and quality for his entire rookie contract and several years beyond. He didn't improve, but he didn't drop.

Cap is going to hold steady. We haven't talked about a hard cap, but I'm probably only team that'd be approaching that anyways

Rookies come in on rookie scale contracts. On average I'd say the contract is around 2 million or so but first few picks will be more than that.

How does the salary cap change over the years? Is it always going to be the same or does it fluctuate?

Another question I have is how does the money spent on cut players effect the cap for the following year? For example I spent 4 mil in cuts this season, will that count against my cap number during the fa period? Or does it just go away after the season?

A cut player's salary will stay on the books the exact same as their contract would. So if you could 3 players and they all make 1 million and expire this year they'd be a 3 million cap hit on your cap. If you however cut a player that makes 1 million each year for 3 years his cap hit of 1 million would stay on against your cap for the duration of his contract. So for the future it's always best to cut players on expiring deals even if they may be a lesser player than another player on a longer deal.
