not sure if anyone knows the answer to this.

are players more likely to accept an FA bid with more money overall or more money in year 1?

Year 1 money is most important

But definitely more likely to accept a 7 year deal compared to 2 if first year money is equal

When team A trades a pick swap with team B, that pick swap is locked in between only team A and B right? Team B can’t go trade the pick swap rights with team A to team C and suddenly the swap is between team A and C? Otherwise that would just make it really bad for team A since team B can go trade pick swaps with like the best team in the league and now it went from a swap from maybe (7,10) to (7, 30)

That was my impression but wanted to make sure

The way I see it is:

If example Grizzlies trade swap rights with Nets where Grizzlies get the choice of the two, and Nets trade their pick to Wizards, the pick swap is still between Nets and Grizzlies just that Wizards receive the actual pick in the swap if that makes sense. Like the conditions are still the same just a different team has ownership of the pick.

This was my impression too, the swap stays the same but you can trade your end of the swap in a separate deal but it doesn’t affect the original team you swapped with. But wanted to confirm

This point is moot b/c u used an unrealistic example of me and nefarious grizz doing a deal together.

The only times I see it as bad is if the team accepting the swap option pick isnt on board with the conditional deal, can turn into a buyer beware

Not targeting any trades since I saw multiple instances of this being ok, but is the rule listed here: https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 25&t=17264 where no more than 2 FA fillers can be used in a trade actually a rule / enforced?

That seems like a vestigial rule, if you have the room (cap and roster spots) why should it matter?
