A 1-4 pitcher with a 4.21 ERA holds Oregon to 4 hits. Man, hopefully the Ducks get the bats going the other two games.

Oregon's had a thing this year for sucking in the first game of some of these series.

i'm a sucker for 1-0 pitcher's duels. me and about 200 other fans enjoyed this game on a sunny evening at PK.

thorpe was masterful. he didn't allow a base hit out of the infield until what, the 7th?

waltrous had been tagged for 3-5 earned each outing this year, so as TK mentioned it was unfortunate we could only plate a single run off a wild pitch, but as always these things don't necessarily happen in a bubble. he pitched very well last year for the utes, and he's their friday guy for a reason. he was obviously capable of pitching a game like last night, and perhaps he's heating up. i always want to score runs, but we've been seeing the ball well lately so i'm more inclined to think last night was more fluky than anything else. we squared up and slapped several well hit line drives, they just happened to be right at an outfielder. it happens.

Utah is so bad and Oregon should be killing them but they're playing dumb. Payne is an idiot.

ducks beat utah 3-1 behind an 8-inning/2-hit gem by goldie.

chase w/ a 2R HR in the 7th for the go-ahead runs.

17-5 (5-1) with a 10-game road trip on the horizon.
