I'm nervous about getting tickets. The student distribution was shady last weekend against Washington so I can imagine how difficult it will be to get tix to this game. Which I must have.

Good luck! Getting student tickets is definitely tough for big games like this.

If there is one stat to watch in this game, I think its the rushing stats.

I hope we score 59 again next week. Something tells me they might not be able to match that.

I think that the stat is that in our last 36 games, when we score more than thirty we are 32-0. Less than thirty we are 0-4.

I am totally on the fence about whether I think Oregon wins this one. I just do not know. I know Stanford is not the same team as the last 2 years but our defense is no where near our defense the last 2 years either.

But Stanford doesn't have Gaffney either. But if we are being honest I really don't know how this game will play out either. Washington scored 20 points on us and they have about the same level of competency as Stanford on offense. So lets assume they have the same output... can we score more than 20 on the best defense in the country? I think so, but we will see. I just do not see us losing twice at Autzen in one year.

While our defense seems to have taken a step back against pass-heavy teams, I think we're actually better against power running teams. I also think Pellum has shown the ability to scheme well specifically for stopping the run.

Stanford is a bit more balanced now than it has been the past few years, but they're certainly not pass-heavy. I think Stanford will struggle to grind the ball against us as they've done in years passed. Defensively, I see this game being much more like the UCLA/UW games than I do the Cal game.

That Stanford D, on the other hand, is just as good as ever... but our offense is better than it has been the past couple years, too. And Mariota is healthy.

Yes, we'll beat Stanford this year, and there's a good chance that it won't be close.

Hopefully Mariota didn't get hurt when he got hit in the leg going out of bounds. Don't want a repeat of last year.

Worried about that too. I can't remember if he ran after that (cheap) play.

I don't remember him running much after that play, but I also didn't see him limping or wearing a brace. He also didn't need to run anymore... the only reason he ran on that play was it was 3rd and forever, and Cal was so far back in coverage that he had no reason not to take the sideline.

Other than that one play, Cal seemed to adjust its second-half defense to contain Mariota's runs.

I don't see our defense being much better than it was last year. Our strengths are on the DL and DB's... Unfortunately, against a team like Stanford it is our LB's that need to make plays... a position that needs substantial improvement still,

Stanford is going to try and make the game as slow and boring as possible.

The key for us, is to strike first on offense. If we can get up say 14-3, Stanford won't be able to eat the clock as much because they will have lost the upper hand. That is the reason we won big in 2010 and 2011. We forced Stanford to try and keep up with us instead of letting them slow down the game to a snails pace.
