Re: AP to ASU
They should have held on to that "sit 2 years if you transfer in conference" rule. Actually, most of the time it has seemd to benefit the Ducks, as we have gotten several decent Pac-10 transfers. However, I still don't like the fact that players can transfer within conference.justducky0 wrote:he has to sit out a year. Assistant coaches change schools within the conference nearly every year and they certainly know a lot more about strategy and schemes than the players. Aaron going to ASU is a minor inconvenience and I wish him well; of course if Amanda left it could be a devastating loss.

Better ASU than Oregon State or Washington.

Re: AP to ASU
I am not concerned about him going to ASU or ASU in general. I am worried about Cal being the team to beat for the Ducks in conference this year and Stanford being a PAC-10 title contender in a few short years and UCLA and Washington being good again in a few years.

I agree with you. ASU has a while to get there act together. The real teams are Cal and I believe Stanford will be the 4th best in the Pac-10 this year
Its Oregon, USC and Cal at the top then I think Stanford

Worried about the playbook. LOL. They either can stop the read option or they can't. Everything else goes from there.

I am surprised Pflu would choose a school with such little establishment at QB. Sullivan is a 1st year starter this year, but also a senior. He will be working with a new QB most likely for his last 2 years there.

Re: AP to ASU
Why all the hatred for AP? You guys sound like my buddy who just got dumped by his girlfriend. The guy worked his butt off for us, no doubt about it. He came in with a low grade and sub-par measurables and everyone pretty much wrote him off (some even after a great spring game said he wouldn't see much of the field and that he'd be a 3rd stringer after the big names showed up in the fall.)
ASU was high on his list before he chose Oregon initially, and Erickson would be a good coach to play for. He didn't choose OSU or UW which are the only schools i think he could choose and still feel like he was screwing us.
I have a feeling that AP will have a successful college career and i hope he gets a chance to show what he can do at ASU. Even after college i still think he'll love and remember his time here at Oregon.

I don't think he will have a good career at ASU, I think he will be a solid back-up. That is the most his skills will give him. I personally never really liked him as a player so really I could care less. Really his sister is the best thing the family gave to the U of O

I think there's a difference between real hate and fan hate. Football wouldn't be as much fun without rivalries, grudges, traitors, etc. Animosity from fans after transferring to a conference rival just goes with the territory, imo.blackjack17 wrote:Why all the hatred for AP? Leaving as a punishment to the program for firing your dad is lame in my book. And I don't care how many warm fuzzy memories he might have about some moments at UO. I'm pretty sure that he wants to win against the Ducks more than any other team. Sorry. No love for that.

Re: AP to ASU
I am not really worried about him giving away the playbook because I heard Kelly is making some changes to the playbook fit the talent we have at WR and to be more NFL friendly for both the QB and RB.
