Re: Braxton Miller
NFL.com in fact today discussed his rehab and sounds promising to me - at least worth bringing him in.

We have playmakers and as long as he can get the ball to playmakers then I would love for him to come here. While everyone loves the long ball, he only needs to provide the threat of that once or twice a game. His %'s have increased every year from 54% to 58% to 64%. That's a good trend.

Re: Braxton Miller
I'm against the idea of true freshman being able to take over the QB job not because the offense is so hard to pick up but because the hard part of it is reading D1 defenses. It's being able to read a disguised coverage so you don't throw the post but instead go to the dump-off in the flat. There are similarities in the scheme between Ohio State and Oregon so I wouldn't imagine he'd struggle picking the offense up too much. However you do bring up a good point in that if he's only here for Fall Camp, then it might be more unrealistic to expect him to show up and master the system. It's going to be fun to see how it plays out and if we're interested in Braxton, he might not be the only QB were looking at to transfer.Alan wrote:I like the idea of him transferring to Oregon, but I have googled in a few different ways to find out if he has graduated. As stated he needs to come here for post graduated courses not offered at Ohio St. All I could find is he will obtain his bachelor degree in the spring of 2015, which may not be a problem, if anyone has a better link please post it. On top of that, will he be able to pick up the offense in a short time? Better than Lockie or one of the red shirts?:

Re: Braxton Miller
On the upside of good unexperienced QB coming in he only has Freeman, Tyner, with luck Marshall, Addison, Allen,Mundt, Nelson, Bayliss, Johnston, Andre Y, Brenner, etc to help him out! . Should be easy to "dummy down" the offense a little with those weapons.Duck07 wrote:I'm against the idea of true freshman being able to take over the QB job not because the offense is so hard to pick up but because the hard part of it is reading D1 defenses. I think competition is good. The cream will always rise to the top, I can't speak for them (the QBs) but I can say that for me, playing soccer all the way up to a semi-pro level, competition brought out the best of me. I think from what I've read that's the mentality that Malahak has and Waller seems to be saying the same, to be the beast you have to beat the best. If Braxton comes and he's the best then I'd say to the other QBs, beat him.

Sorry guys, I've been busy with work and drying my tears over Panda's departure to Boston. Duck541's info appears to be solid according to my source. Will we get him? No clue. But there HAS been communication.

Re: Braxton Miller
On their academic calender it apears they are on a quarter system with classes ending in mid march. So if he graduates then, he could be eligible for spring practice, which I think would be very important, whether he is full contact or not would not matter as much, at least he could begin learning our offense.

I have now double-confirmed Duck541's OP.
As for Buckner and Tyner, I haven't asked anyone yet. I'll see what I can do.

So KOD, have you heard it as a near done deal like Duck541 or is it a more fluid situation then that? Again, thank you for all you do!

Re: Braxton Miller
I hear that it sounds promising. I did not hear anything along the lines that it was done or imminent. But it sounds like he is weighing his options and that Oregon is his first choice.DAT_man_again wrote:KingofDucks wrote:I have now double-confirmed Duck541's OP.
