96 Shooting Guards

Other Shooting Guard Prospects:
Ray Allen C+ B C C+ C- A
Allen has not maximum range. Sometimes it seemed like he stepped further out just to screw with his match. He has one of the quickest releases you will ever see and has great size at 6'5". While he may not be the strongest player on the court, he is one of the quickest and has a very polished defensive game as well. Sky is the limit for this kid.
Derek Anderson C B- C B- C A
Very sweet shooter out of Kentucky. Trying to compare any shooter to Allen would be futile so I wont, he has a very good game in his own right and should find a place in a rotation. he has a very good midrange shot and his 3 pointer has a very smooth release. Very good defender, he has the knack of avoiding screens and has the speed to catch up when he does get caught. Extremely strong for a guard, and loves to play above the rim. Has A potential, but scouts admit it is probably toward the lower end of the scale.
Erik Strickland C+ C+ C- B- C- A
Strickland was one of the more dangerous threats in the Big 12 last season. He led the Cornhuskers in points and steals and also was their vocal leader. He tends to go under screens a fair bit to avoid getting beat to the hoop but does have a good close out to make up for it. Good looking outside shot he also was one of the best guards outside of Iverson and Maloney at finishing at the rim. Very solid potential.
Matt Maloney C+ C B- C+ D B
He does one thing and one thing well, he knows how the finish. He is the definition of a slasher guard and his tricks at the hoop seem endless. His problems arise as he doesn't have the lift to dunk nor is he strong in any way. He dominated possession at Penn and put up huge numbers in the Ivy League. Decent upside.
Chris Robinson C B- C B- C- B
Small school kid out of Western Kentucky. The Hilltopper was easily the best deep threat in the conference. He has a very flat shot but at range it rattles home every time. Despite the lower competition he prefered to shoot rather than finish, but he graded out very well in the bench press drill so scout don't think it should be too much of a worry, more of a mental than physical thing. One of the better outside threats in this class, scouts think he has the upside to grow into this 6'5" frame but unless he gets more agressive at the cup he may never get there.

The guard plays all phases of the game very well and if could ever take that next step he could be outstanding. Scouts have been waiting three years for that next step.
Emanuel Davis C C+ D+ B- D+ B
Decent outside shooter and very polished defender. Decent upside.
Ruben Nembhard C+ C- C- C+ D+ A
Good defender and great potential, not a good outside shooter.
James Scott C+ C+ D+ C D B
Hard to judge as he was only a backup on his college team but he declared he was going to make a run at the draft. Great balanced offense game, bad defender and TO prone.
Randy Livingston C- B- C B- C- B
Good outside threat and defender who rarely gamble and has exceptional recovery ability around screens. Bad inside game. Ok, not great, potential.
