If I recall correctly, without a single category above a 60 that affects the defensive rating you can have an A, (might be A+)

tough to tell really, but yeah, SF takes into account every defensive rating, so it jumps easier than say Center, where perimeter D, Steals, mean much less. Same goes for PG's, Blocks, Post D, Strength

Drive D means absolutely nothing, if you wanna mislead in the draft a bit, you inflate a guys drive D, push down his other defensive stats, makes him look better, but he plays much worse than appearance (you can use it at any spot).

Meh, I think mechanics like that are pretty weak if being used to be completely honest. Especially if there is no signifyer in the write up about them since that's all we can go off.

essentially the same thing as jumping and passing though.

You have to use Drive D, it differentiates the stats, it just never truly got implemented in game (same as greed, loyalty, play for winner)

As a creation mechanic, because this league is designed around a higher pot, lower starting stats model, without using having drive difference to get these players to look different you would see them look a lot more similar starting out.
