I don't know, seemed like this thread was the right one to post speculation.

They a pretty good source for coaching news since they have a wide network of coaches and sources that keeps them up-to-date.

Jim McElwain says he's staying in Florida.

One positive of hiring Brian Kelly would be his familiarity of both USC and Stanford, whom he plays annually at Notre Dame. I think Kelly is an excellent coach, as does Mike Bellotti, who stated as much on ESPN a few months ago.

I'd be happy with Brian Kelly, Chip Kelly or Jim McElwain.
Brian Kelly is terrible. He gets better recruits than we do and has had two good seasons (has the same total record Weis had when he was fired FYI) and dude has ZERO accountability for when his team loses or does something wrong. It's never his fault and he constantly throws his players under the bus. Dude is s***.

They aren't always right, but they're the best. The absolute, absolute worst are Feldman, Mandel, anyone on Oregon talk radio, and anyone who's a commentator for ESPN.

I drooled over him at Colorado State. Haven't followed him since he went to Florida but hasn't he got them back into league contention and has a top 5 defense?

Scratch Scott Frost off the list. Says he isn't a candidate. Also, footballscoop says Taggart isn't either.

Looks like it's down to Fleck, Schiano and maybe Harsin.

Fleck would be my top choice of those 3.

I get the feeling it's going to be someone nobody is talking about. Much like Mike Riley to Nebraska and Gary Andersen to OSU, it seems like it'll be a total snow job. I think that's why so many "sources" have conflicting information.

I'd assume the only people in the know are Mullens, the PK's and the reps of whomever they are talking to. There is no reason for anyone to leak anything at this point since Oregon is the premiere job on the market so not a situation like the Herman/LSU leak that forced Texas into action.
