Oregon Softball

starts tomorrow vs Virginia and Creighton, they got two Friday and one each Saturday and Sunday too. Kleist will go first I'm guessing and then the two highly ranked freshman will pitch also. It will be interesting to see how the offense does with about half of the roster new of the every day players.

definitely a bit of turnover but udria/lilly are two of the best hitters in the country so not a bad core to build around. svekis and lindvall are all-conference caliber. i know the frosh class was acclaimed (#1 nationally) but the prior year's class (sophomores/redshirt frosh) was mega-talented too; a lot of girls simply couldn't get on the field because of all the upperclassmen. there are a LOT of talented young hitters on the roster we just don't know a lot about yet.

ducks go 6-0 in their weekend tournament.
kleist gave up 0 earned in 11 IP.
balint gave up 1 earned in 19.2 IP.
elish gave up 4 earned in 9.1 IP.

14-0 after sweeping the bank of hawaii invite.
we've still only played 2 ranked teams. we should have a little better idea of how good we are after this week. we trip to columbia for the missouri invite and have two games against mizzou. they're usually pretty good.

16-0 after run ruling Maryland and nearly doing the same, with ranked Missouri.
Two more wins and they tie their longest consecutive win streak.

Yes a couple of teams in top 25, not elite tho. Florida state comes to Eugene later in the year and they are/were #1.

beat Missouri twice at their place when they were 23rd or 24th. They are now 24-0 and ranked 3rd or 4th. Nice to see the two freshman pitchers doing so well so early, looking forward to see how they do once conference play starts.

Oregon beats Cal today 10-2 to sweep the series and move to 27-0.
