Does anyone know what the contract details of Smith's new salary? I see he was making $700k a years as a husky OC. Beavs AD is saying they are going to open up the pocket book some for his assistants, pulling decent assistants away is all about money, it's all Corvallis has to offer, curious to how much they opened up the pocket book for JS.

Looks like its around $9.9 million for 5 years. Sounds like he took lower pay in order to free up money for assistants.

He's still probably being overpaid. He wasn't going to get a HC offer from anyone else.

He's making 23K/scholarship player. That's my new way of assessing coaching contracts, how much are they making per player each year.

Mike Riley is returning to OSU as Smith's assistant HC. Not a bad hire for a young coach in his first head job.
