i'm no ncaa expert but the hoops infractions seem minor. i would say the track and field offense is a critical mistake by the UO and we could expect a harsh penalty, however the university of north carolina exists so i'm not entirely sure how the ncaa would justify sanctioning us.

Track is the only one that seems problematic, but that had to do with Jasmine Todd and an online course that was eventually ironed out due to an agreement with the professor. The ones for basketball are minor.

it'll be interesting to see what comes out of that faculty member story.

did the faculty member change the grade... because he/she felt bad for the athlete? because they were pressed by someone within the t&f program to do so? was it a proffessor or a GTF?

Here's some background on that grade changing. It was more an agreement by Jasmine Todd and the professor to allow schoolwork to be turned in later due to Todd's busy T&F schedule on the weekends. The UO's compliance department felt it was not above board and pulled her from competition but things have since been worked out, even it did make Todd turn pro instead of returning for his last year of eligibility.

After the UNC debacle, I don't know how anybody can take them seriously any more. Honestly, I really can't.

Well a Miss St player was given a heads up he was going to be interviewed by the NCAA with immunity as part of the ole miss investigation in which he said he was paid 10k to be a bulldog. I'm not exactly sure what their role is anymore beyond awarding national champions.

Meh, it's a nice headline grabber to say that "Oregon is under investigation" but really there's nothing to see here.
