Well if they thought Depoe Bay was picture worthy I will gladly give them the grand tour.

Btw, anyone coming to the coast for the eclipse is an idiot.

Even the valley is a big risk because of morning clouds about 1-2 days a week in summer.

I think he is more talking about the lack of roadways along the coast.

Generally you have poor eastern horizon's to the coast range and morning fog and clouds which will decrease the amount of good viewing locations which is to say nothing of the infrastructure issues.

I figure that if I go do something I'll be out in the Mary's Peak area, maybe spot a double rainbow...

Also I think the coaches are up at one of the many camps out by Tillamook.

I'm flying back from NYC for it and to see family and whatnot. Going to camp somewhere near Detroit the night before and night after, and find a good spot on a ridge to see the eclipse.

I'm going to watch it from my back yard. Total eclipse here in Casper. I could try to drive 5 miles south to see the extra 2 seconds but the traffic will be a nightmare both coming and going. I don't think I'm going to miss the extra 2 seconds of totality...
