King injury update

Looks like Lou King won't be ready for their Dec. 1 game against Houston. With Wooten's status up in the air after tonight's injury, Saturday's game could get ugly for Oregon.

Yeah, wasn't expecting him anyway. Not until the first week of December at least.

Ahead of schedule, I remember he was scheduled for the 1st. Hopefully they didn't rush him back before he is truly ready.

At this point, I'm really wondering what kind of knee injury he had. The longer he stays out, the worse I think his initial injury was. I was under the impression it was some type of meniscus tear but now with him basically being down a full year, I'm beginning to think he had some ligament and/or articular cartilage injury (resulting in microfracture surgery.)

Got to hope he can at least get a non-conference game or two in before PAC-12 ball starts.

Freshman forward Louis King will not be cleared to play against the Cougars, but could debut for the Ducks later in December. The 6-9 freshman, a five-star high school recruit, has been practicing on a limited basis for the past three weeks as he recovers from a torn meniscus suffered in January. Altman said the rehabilitation plan calls for King to be eased back into practice for about a month.
“He’s doing well, progressing well,” Altman said. “He’s frustrated, he wants to go full blast all the time right away, but that is not what we have been instructed to do. We will go slowly here. This is for the long-term. Lou has a long-term future in basketball and if we play well, we still have three and one-half or four months to play yet. No sense in rushing it.”
King will give Oregon another threat on the perimeter.
“His consistency has to be better, but he’s a very good shooter,” Altman said.
Oregon has one week between games after playing at Houston on Saturday before returning home to face Nebraska-Omaha on Dec. 8.

Altman - "We're following exactly what the doctor had prescribed, as far as bringing him back over a month period. We're in the third week of that."

Maybe December 8th against Nebraska-Omaha for his debut?

For anyone wondering: Boise game on the 15th for King is what the coaches and training staff are targeting for his debut.
