I just go to around to watching the Cristobal interview. the one thing that stood out and I agreed with is if a player elects to sit the bowl game out they will not be at the game.

"Great game, great location!"

Uh, no. Winner gets a gold plated CD? Playing in wet, windy, cold, muddy field in San Francisco at noon? I guess it's a good opportunity for more practices and recruiting. Glass half full/glass half empty kind of deal for me.

CMC obviously knows how to copy and paste from www.diplomaticcoachspeak.com

I hear it's a very popular website this time of year.

Little did we know that our final game this season would be on the field where the National Championship will be played.

I have seen a lot of fans underwhelmed with this bowl game. I am actually looking forward to it, seems we are building a bit of history and a rivalry with Michigan State.

I’d much rather be in this game than the sun bowl. Or in Vegas playing 3 weeks before this game is played against a mountain west team. The holiday would have been nice but considering they passed over hometown Stanford to select us, we should just be glad we aren’t playing Pitt in El Paso.

Would that be the same " wet, windy, cold, muddy field in San Francisco" mentioned above?

Yup, bust out the Canadian Tuxedo's, both games are played at Levi's stadium.

True. We have another 2 games scheduled with them in the next few years, too.

It's hard to get very excited about playing a team with a lesser record. It just doesn't seem as challenging, to me, at least. Of course, records can also be deceiving.

I looked at their wins though and they've beaten a 10 win Utah State team and beaten Penn State. They've also played Michigan and Ohio State tough.

That said, they've lost to Nebraska, lost to ASU, barely beat Rutgers and have lost 4 of their last 6 games. I don't know if some of that is due to injuries or not? From looking at the scores of their games, they seem to have a tendency to play to the level of their competition. Just my observation.

Here's their schedule:
