Just curious where everyone thinks Mitchell will be landing.

I'm thinking 6th round.

Somebody picked first. I am no pro scout, but think there is no way he is a 1st round prospect.

Has to be for comedic value.

Options:
1. It was a joke
2. It was an error made by happy thumbs
3. A delusional fan after way too many drinks

Mitchell is too small but he can usually catch the ball in traffic but as he showed in the bowl game, you get a good DB on him he really has a hard time....... UDFA, if that.

Where is the box for "It doesn't matter where, it was still his best choice."

* He wont get any taller or faster.

* He had a great statistical year with virtually no where to go but down if he returns.

* Oregon appears to only offer "Receiver 101" level classes with no upper level offerings, he wont get any better staying here.

I would love for him to come back for my own greedy fan reasons but, were I was his parent I'd say now is the time to go.

While I did post that article that says there isn't really a difference in pay between a 4th rounder and a 7th other than the signing bonus, you still have to A-Get drafted, B-make the team and C-last the entirety of the contract without being cut.

The lower you are drafted, the less beholden teams are to you. Further, in NFL terms, without desirable athletic traits, 1 good season as a WR does not get you drafted, you need a history of it which is what coming back would do for him.

He may very well get drafted, but I wouldn't bet on it so good luck to him.

I picked 6th round. A lot of teams need WR help. Redskins, Jets, Dolphins, Bills, Cardinals, Raiders, 49ers, Patriots, Denver, Browns...one of them will be willing to take a chance on the PAC12 leading receiver with a late round pick.

I picked UDFA. Too small and not fast enough. From what I’ve seen, his routes could use some more polish. Another year focusing on tightening things up would put him solidly into the 5th round.

Is there any chance he will be invited to the combine or is that for seniors only? If Herbert is throwing for him would be a good opportunity to get more scouts in the building for a look at all our players.

Jelk, Hollins and Amadi got invited because they were seniors. Jelks got an invite to the Senior Bowl which is seniors only but the combine will still invite players making those choices. I imagine they invite Mitchell and would definitely invite Dye if he left.

Maybe it was Dillon?

Oh and put me down for 6th round. He is good enough that someone is going to give him a shot.
I like this kid’s drive. I think he makes a team.

The one thing that no one has mentioned is Mitchell is very elusive. After a catch in an open field, more times than not he makes the first guy miss. Not on the level of DAT but better than most in the past few years.

Like you said, not at the level of DAT and DAT can't do it in the NFL. I don't think his elusiveness in the pac 12 is going to translate to elusiveness in the NFL.
