Some rumors flying around that if the Nebraska job opens, Altman may bolt? Anyone know anything?

It's possible, but he's got a good thing going at Oregon. Dunno if that would be best for him.

I do know a lot of his family still lives in Nebraska though.

Man, that would be such a bummer. Seems kind far fetched.....There is no way Nebraska would pay as much right? Gotta think, uncle Phil would step in...

it's a ridiculous downgrade any way you slice it, but i've heard this rumor, too. it seems to be based on:

1. an obvious personal nebraska connection, and

2. the B1G is light years ahead of the pac-12, and with the B1G network pumping more money into member schools nebraska could, in theory, dump a whole lot of $$ altman's way to try to entice him.

i don't believe it, myself. he'd have to have a very poor working relationship with the athletic department (which we likely wouldn't be privy to) to spur such a move. he's not at the age where you'd want to try to rebuilding a program from nothing, which is what nebraska would be. he's been to a final four here. the path to another is much more attainable here than it is at nebraska, as would be an elusive national championship.

Lots of us don't go on other boards, it's nice to post a link so we can judge the rumor for ourself.

Just a thought, the "war room" board currently has 5025 topics, how many if the rumors were removed? Heyward will be hired as Ducks next DC? ....... what's a sports message board without rumors, some even turn into fact.

This isn't a rumor, outside of a few people who think everyone is leaving UO.

I could go on as there is a lot more of this on social media. Not saying it is going to happen, but I also didn't just make it up.

Wow, but wouldn't surprising considering the season. And would makes sense in some regards.
