lol at thinking "blitzing" stops an air raid offense.

When you have CBs that can play Man-Press and tackle, kind of like our current group.justducky0 wrote:Lol yep, let me know when a blitz affects a 3 step timing route ....
I don't see us doing it a lot early but more of it as the game wears on

Leavitt over blitzed against Leach last year and it hurt us. The air raid is just a different type of offense, and Leach is the best at it.
A big part of why I’m more confident we can stop it this year is our LBs. ISM had been a huge upgrade. That, and using Holland as a jack of all trades should stop that pesky short to mid range quick passing attack. The defense is both fast and better at tackling in space then we’ve been for a looong time. I’m not overreacting to us having a hard time with Ahmed last week.
I’m excited to see what we can do with the power run against that Coug defense in disarray. We’ve pushed around much more stout defenses.

If the AccuWeather forecast holds, there won't be any rain during the game, but it will be cold. Temps are expected to dip into 30's on Saturday evening, with an overnight low of 33 degrees.

You have to have a good balance. Under Don Pillows Oregon rushed 3 all game long and Halliday had all day to pick apart Oregon's defense. But with Leavitt last season (as another poster pointed out), he over-blitzed and WSU had too many quick routes open up simply due to a numbers game. You have to find the right balance to where you don't just let the QB in the Air Raid have all day to throw, cause eventually someone will open up, but you can't leave people open on quick routes. I trust Avalos will find that balance and the Oregon defense will give WSU's offense a tough time. I still think WSU will get a few TD's, but not enough to keep up with Oregon's offense. I guess it'll be a score of like 45-24.Phenom wrote:lol at thinking "blitzing" stops an air raid offense.

I agree. I also think we'll cause a few turnovers too.GoDucksTroll wrote:Leavitt over blitzed against Leach last year and it hurt us. The air raid is just a different type of offense, and Leach is the best at it.

We SHOULD be able to run for like 300+ on these coug clowns.
Hopefully going against our own D-line stems in practice will help our O-line be better against them finally.
On the other side, I think the key to stopping them is actually stopping Borghi, especially in the check down game. That guy tore us up last year. Really curious to see what Avalos' gameplan is.

Here's our broadcast crew on ESPN: Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Todd McShay
Todd McShay would make listening to Walt Whitman difficult

McShay is a one-trick pony. He thinks the audience needs an in-depth analysis of a players mechanics every play. I can’t remember who was playing but a few weeks ago he was on the broadcast and was breaking down the QBs throwing mechanics every other play. It ruined the broadcast.Duck07 wrote:Here's our broadcast crew on ESPN: Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Todd McShay
