Jon Wilner has an excellent take on this.

I had the same thought yesterday. The conference coaches know better than anyone that the Ducks are on the verge of being a powerhouse. Why would they help that cause by awarding them with a bunch of all conference and the COY of the year honors?

I actually think the conference coaches leaving so many talented Duck players off the conference team may backfire since it'll give already motivated players extra motivation to prove them wrong.

His table at the end actually showed there is a flat out multi-year bias against the ducks. It is not just a Cristobal thing....
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

Wilner nails it, and I think the explanation is simple.

Everyone hates us. Money, facilities, fan base, taking recruits and coaches, and the program being on a massive rise. They don't want to give us any more advantages to crow about.

This is really sad. It's one thing, and actually kind of entertaining to get the noise from Husky & Beavers fans; but to see it from the actual teams? Fortunately, Cristobal won't be bothered, and we saw Troy Dye's response yesterday.

So Shane was a 2nd team All-Conference but SI named him 1st Team All-American? Yeah, something definitely smells fishy with the Pac-12.

The AP has gotten it right, naming Cristobal the coach of the year, Sewell as co-offensive MVP, and 5 Ducks to both the 1st and 2nd teams:

They are, just not as incompetent as Pac-12 coaches.
