Tua said this morning that Taulia would be staying at Alabama.

Hmmm... This could get interesting, depending on the OC hire.

Is Taulia anything like his brother? Never seen him play.

Re: Jamie Newman
Warming up to Newman. He’s huge and isn’t afraid to stand in the pocket. I guess when you’re as big as a LB those blitzing safeties just bounce right off ya. I like Shough but I think Oregon is a good/experienced QB away next year from a playoff so I’d like them to go for it.

Re: Jamie Newman
I don't think we would take Taulia at this point.
As for Newman, he was teammates and friends with a GA (A'lique Terry) at Wake Forest, so he does have some connections here.

Re: Jamie Newman
I would take him to keep him away from washington. I'm petty like that.

Re: Jamie Newman
What if he goes to Washington and balls out while Shough is not the next Tua everyone is hyping him to be lololol.

Re: Jamie Newman
Duck fans be like : WhY aRe We ReCrUtInG So MaNnY QbS
UGA really has no QBs behind Fromm - a walkon with in Seter, and former 3* recruit Stetson Bennett
they only signed one QB this recruiting cycle and getting a transfer from Nevada who never played.
If you are against Newman coming in to Oregon, you fundamentally don't understand how football works.

Re: Jamie Newman
Georgia has to be the clear leader for Newman. If I was him, that's probably where I'd go.
Interesting that he wants to get away from Wake Forest to do less RPO. Many fans have cited that a benefit to bringing him to Eugene would be his ability to tuck it and run.

justducky0 wrote:It is just so interesting to me that so many Oregon fans are "Team Shough" when we have seen him for about 3 plays his entire career. But for some reason when a senior QB who can ball with Wake Forest skill players wants to come here everyone is skeptical. Have you noticed Oregon now has a great stable of QBs if they bring the Newman in? What a great Spring / Fall battle it will be to win the job. It will raise each QBs game and guess what...the best one will start. Which in the end is the best for the Ducks. This whole argument against bringing him in makes ZERO sense and should be done.
Reminds me of when so many people were on the Brian Bennett train and were shocked when Marcus started.

I'm actually excited to see Brian Butterfield, too... love that he committed here even with Ashford coming.
I definitely felt a bit skeptical when hearing we might be in the running for Newman, but definitely -- bring him in if he wants to compete. He'll either start or push someone else to be better (or both). And I do think Newman might give us the best chance to beat Ohio State in Week 2.

Willie Taggart is a dick.
