Altman needs to put Kepnag in.

My early impression is that Iowa is taking Oregon's best shot and is still ahead on points and fouls. Ducks are shooting almost 60% from the field and are still behind. Not sure what more they can do - I guess we'll see.

What else can they do? They can knock down some threes. Nice shooting, guys. Keep it up!

Good to see Kepnang get a block. I know Altman is wary to play him since he's still so raw but they need all the help and fouls they can get to cover Garza.

Bad foul on Iowa to close the half. Ducks up 10 at half.

Despite some bad turnovers and fouls, what a strong first half for the Ducks!

What an electric first half. Lotta great performances by our guys.
I do worry about foul trouble though, and we absolutely need to stay hot. They can feed Garza all game long.

Did I miss it, or has Oregon mostly saved the press for the 2nd half?
Stewart Mandel-"From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I much prefer to watch a good spread-rushing offense over a traditional Power-I offense, and Oregon's has been the most fun by far for the past several years. It's fast, its precise, and when Chip Kelly has the right quarterback (Dixon, Masoli) at the helm, the possibility of someone ripping off a 60-yard run exists on nearly every play."

The end to the half couldn't have gone any better for us.
Guys need to play smart with the fouls but I don't think we need to rein anyone in, give Franck some more run in spurts to eat up some of the inevitable calls down low.

Altman will now strangle the life out of the Hawkeyes in the 2nd half. It’s what he does. When Altman’s teams play well in the first half, they only get better after adjustments. Iowa fans wanted to point to SC, but that game we played horrible in the first half.

I didn't see it but I have seen some good transition play from Iowa after made baskets to think that it may not be used too much as it could give Garza a lot of easy 1v1bigsugarduck wrote:Did I miss it, or has Oregon mostly saved the press for the 2nd half?

Agreed, but still think they should try it as the game tightens up with 8 mins to go...Duck07 wrote:I didn't see it but I have seen some good transition play from Iowa after made baskets to think that it may not be used too much as it could give Garza a lot of easy 1v1bigsugarduck wrote:Did I miss it, or has Oregon mostly saved the press for the 2nd half?

It looked like after the last timeout, Altman told his starters to avoid fouling at all costs because it was the first time they backed off of Garza down low and weren't as in tight on some shots. Only Williams picked up a foul there late. Totally the right move- nobody has more than 2 fouls going into the second half.
