Days of Sonics’ Past: A quick look back at my past trades

Post by vincent1469 »

(reupload because I linked wrong)

Sonics-Rockets
Bill Wingate + 1983 second for 1983 first
https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35265
Verdict: Rockets won. Wingate was not on my team for very long and that first ended up being Ennis Whatley. And that second rounder ended up being Mark West who was a bust.

Sonics-Lakers
Bill Wingate for Artis Gilmore + 1984 first + 2 seconds
https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35474
Verdict: Lakers won. Wingate was an important piece in their 1984 championship and that first ended up being Earl Jones who isn’t on my team anymore.

Sonics-Blazers
Wallace Bryant for Tom Owens + 1984 second + first round pick swap
https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35522
Verdict: Blazers won. The Blazers’ pick ended up being Michael Jordan and Bryant is no longer on my team. That being said, that pick was already part of a pick swap and wouldn’t have been mine either way.

Sonics-Hornets
Terry Tyler + Tom Burleson + pick swap for Cedric Maxwell
https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35525
Verdict: Hornets won. Tyler is still on the Hornets and the Hornets’ pick ended up being Jay Humphries who is still on their team.

Sonics-Grizzlies
Quinn Buckner + 26th pick for 55th + 56th pick
https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35672
Verdict: Sonics won. Mostly because none of those draft picks ended up staying for more than a year.

Sonics-Grizzlies
Freeman Williams + Tony Campbell + 31st pick for scrubs and first round pick swap
https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35792
Verdict: Sonics won. Not that this was a good trade just that the Grizzlies’ pick ended up being Detlef Schrempf who is a bust while I got Wayman Tisdale with my pick.

Sonics-Blazers
Jim Lampley + 1987 second for Cedric Maxwell
https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35900
Verdict: Blazers won. While Maxwell was on that team that made the conference finals in 1985, he got flipped for Dr. J. Lampley meanwhile serves a reserve role on my team currently.

Sonics-Pistons
Keith Edmonson + 1985 second for free
https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35938
Verdict: Pretty even. Edmonson is an efficient scorer for me while the Pistons used their cap space to build up their team which will be interesting going into the future.

Sonics-Grizzlies
Wallace Bryant + 38th pick for free
https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35940
Verdict: Sonics won. Bryant ended up having another negative TC while the pick ended up being Caleb Bogues who was recently shipped off for free.

Sonics-Knicks
Freeman Williams + Earl Jones + 2 firsts for Bill Laimbeer
https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=36017
Verdict: Knicks won. They got Kevin Duckworth with their pick who can continue to develop into Laimbeer’s replacement while Laimbeer didn’t do too much for me.

In conclusion I lost every trade outside of my small Grizzlies trades lol. But trades are fun! It’s a learning process I guess.

I was always confused by this. Wasn't this pick swap just between Sonics and Hornets 1st? https://ducksattack.com/forum/viewtopic ... 27&t=35525 At least that's what the language seemed like. So since the pick was the Clippers pick wouldn't you have been able to keep it if you didn't make the trade with the Blazers?

If anything this one you won since that 1st was the one that became MJ. If you were able to keep it of course, but in isolation haha.

Schrempf was a mess up from me and lottery luck :( . And hey! Our Laimbeer/Lister trade isn't included.

Lol I only included trades before this year because it was way too early to tell. And the pick swap with the Hornets was swapping his pick for my best pick.

Our trade was a pick swap, so it was Humphries for a pick that ended up being Jay Murphy (to TOR? no clue how they got that)
I would say I won though, because while Humphries is nothing special but Tyler ended up giving me most if not all of what Maxwell had where I needed it for 1/3rd the price, and I went to the ECF.
