You all are such a joke; he was the best prior to Covid, him not trying vaccinated doesn’t make him more special. It makes him selfish and will continue forever to be a black mark on his career, as it should be.

Wow, feel better?

Aside from his admirable decision not to give into the the Pfizer-sponsored pressure to take a shot that ultimately failed to stop Covid from spreading and that we are still learning the harmful side-effects of, it is also entertaining to watch him winning well past the traditional age of decline for tennis players. As if his chosen regimen, rather than being unhealthy, is actually superior to that of the throngs of haters who swore not taking the shot would kill everyone. Instead of a black mark, he has career records that it will take many years to break, and in tennis, his sustained excellence and name at the top of every list will be a constant reminder that the shills were wrong.

Ask Alex de Minaur.

This is a narrative stuck in January 2021. Since then, it has been revealed that (1) the jabs don't prevent the spread and (2) natural immunity is by far the best deterrent to infection.

How can you possibly still be stuck in the "he is selfish and killing everyone" narrative? That is a problem.

Shame on you for interrupting a perfectly good circle-jerk.

Thanks, as always, for your contribution to the thread, Pez. Stunning intellectual response, as usual.

Crazy to reflect on the fact that Australia deported Novak with the justification that he posed a risk to "civil order" because his stance on vaccines might cause Australian's to doubt the governments' edicts.

Pudge and others are fighting the wrong fight. Your enemy shouldn't be the people who want to uphold longstanding ideals of personal freedom, restrained government, and authoritarianism. Your enemy should be those who seek to take those things away under the guise of safety and security. This wasn't the bubonic plague. It never was. The nature of this plague never justified the violation of the ideals I previously mentioned.

Why do you think that a good chunk of people hold the views that I and other people on this thread do? Are we delusional? If yes, is that delusion really so strong that many of us would risk careers/livelihoods to stand against said mandates? Have you considered motivations?... maybe there is more to our views than "antivax" or "conspiracy theory"

The amount of false information that came from the highest authorities to justify government overreach (lockdowns/mandates) should cause anyone to shudder.

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety"

In 2023 all objective information on Covid says that not getting the jab was the right move. People were always going to die from it so even the Pro Vaccine crowd in hindsight has to applaud the previous administrations efforts. Closing the country down for example wasn't xenophobic at all and simply pragmatic.

It's also interesting how Xenophobia in tennis is so widely applauded. You never hear about Americans getting booed at events because we're indiscriminately bombing women and children 90% of the time we launch a drone; yet this is now a common thing for anyone from Russia or from a former republic to be either barred from playing or outright booed for showing sportsmanship in seeking a typical handshake after a loss.

This desire to remain fractured rather than seek common ground is quite appalling for what it portends in the coming years.

I got the vaccine but it’s become abundantly clear that we were lied to and the vaccine was basically a joke. Why people are still trying to fly their tattered partisan standard over this issue is beyond me.

The vaccine was never to stop the spread and would not prevent you from catching covid. The vaccine mitigates the symptoms of covid for most people. So the vaccine was effective in achieving that purpose. The lockdown was a full blown overreaction though and really screwed up the world in all facets, aside for the 0.1% ers.

That may be true but our president, Dr. Fauci, public health officials, state governors, senators, and practically every mainstream media and pop-culture voice told our country that the vaccine would stop COVID dead in its tracks. And when it didn’t, instead of telling us the truth, they doubled down and created the booster narrative.

And now that we know what you said is true, they still haven’t admitted they were wrong. As a result you have people who are still getting boosters, wearing cloth masks, and getting mad on message boards at people daring to discuss it.

This is patently false and proves that you never actually checked right-wing claims at the source.

No, it was true up until they started with 2nd shot, 3rd shot, 4th shot.

They used the line that you can't spread Covid if you're vaxxed. They used the line that it was a "pandemic of the uvaxxed." That it was killing the kids and on and on with the lies.

There's a lot they were patently wrong about Pez.
