Dixon is looking really composed even with all of the mistakes his linemen are making. Nice 3rd down completion for a first down but of course another penalty. He is getting blitzed a lot but he has been able to elude the pressure and either throw it away or make completions.

2 20+yard plays by Dixon so far called back for holding. One call was legit, the other wasn't. Ray Lewis just ran over Moore and fell over..

On a unrelated note, Michael Oher is a cool story, the rookie O-lineman that the movie "the Blindside" is about. Good movie!

Steelers don't trust him in two minute drill with no passes

meh, thats the NFL, no need to risk going down on a mistake that any QB could make much less a guy making his first start...not to mention if they really have a limited play selection, save the 2 minute drill stuff in case you really need it near the end of the game

My thoughts…

(1) Considering the circumstances, Dixon has been relatively impressive. Only downside is that Pittsburgh has not given him very much responsibility and Baltimore is playing the run and forcing Dixon to pass.
(2) Being the backup to Big Ben is a good and bad thing. Yes, he is able to learn a lot from one of the best, but he will never get a shot to be the starter (although Ben has had multiple concussions so you never know).
(3) Dixon becomes a free agent at the end of next season. I predict he will resign with Pittsburgh. He won’t get a chance to go be a starter somewhere else; 5th wrong QBs with no starting experience rarely do.

Did anyone see the read option on the 3rd down to end the half? Maybe we see it in the second (though even if they did, I strongly doubt they would let Dixon actually "read" and just give it to the back).

Yeah, I bet it was going to the RB the entire time - they just wanted to make sure the D was being honest.

That was pure read option, Dennis still has it down pat, they read Dixon, although he coulda run for 5 or 6 yards. That pass Dixon threw to Wallace wasa right on the money, Dixon musta had nightmares of some former Oregon RReceivers, cause that was dropped, DB just got a hand on the back of him, no reason to drop it.

The rush seems to be getting to Dixon. Common man, keep it together. This game is very winnable
