I wouldn't be surprised by this at all. As I mentioned in an earlier post, UW is losing a LOT of talent after this season and A&M has an abundance, as well as a highly rated recruiting class.

In addition, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jonathan Smith replace him at UW.

Mississippi State fired Zach Arnett this morning and Brady Hooe announced he is retiring from San Diego St after this season.

Rumblings that Chip is headed out the door at UCLA. Haven't seen a major news outlet on it yet though. There were reports that they were waiting until the buyout on his contract was reduced after December 15th, but maybe they found a way around it.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Chip gone after this year and if so I doubt he coaches again. I know it’s speculation but doesn’t seem like Chip wants to coach that much anymore, his demeanor at Oregon and Philly vs UCLA is totally different.

What if... Chip got fired, Stein took a different job, and we hired Chip to be our offensive coordinator? I feel like he and Lanning would vibe pretty well together, and he cook just cook up game plans without having to worry so much about recruiting.

He was a wizard when he put all of his focus on just the offense to begin with. Probably a lot less stress with that assignment, too. They could run a trial with him as consultant for the first year. Then if Saban leaves and Alabama calls, and Dan takes his dream job, we have a HC ready to plug in. Good thinking. Also, I'd put Chip on recruiting QBs, but that's all.
