Oregon desparately needs more effective ball movement right now.

Shelstad being out is definitely showing.

That’s probably game. Gotta be proud of the fight this team has, but just not enough with the crazy amount of injuries. Hate to lose to this dirty Creighton team but that’s life.

dame. we should've won that one in regulation. that in bound to Dante was really costly.

I feel so awful for Dante and Couisnard.

Injury also can't seem to escape us with shelstad injured late in the 2nd half. His shooting wasn't good tonight but his tough D was missed late in the game.

The entire team, Altman included, let Couisnard and Dante down.

This loss is 100% on Altman though for continued horrible late game management with a lead.

Altman lovers will be all over me for this but Altman, as good as he is, has some awful lead management. It was down to cause this team to lose a late lead, it just happened to be at the worst game possible.
Lol, what more could he do? His team was utterly exhausted and just trying to make it to the end. Oquendo was the only option left to put in for Dante and he shoots 66% from the line. He certainly didn’t tell Evans to inbound it to Dante. Unfortunately a freshman mistake at a critical time.

To me the bigger mistake we having Evans throw in the ball.

I dunno. I generally trust Evans more than Rigsby or Tracey in terms of decision making. Guy just made a mistake. Shelstad injury was the killer. He would have been the guy to get the ball and shoot the free throws.

Fair enough, ultimately, injuries did this team in. Not having Bittle, Barthelemy, Cook, and then losing Shelstad in the second half is a ton to overcome. There’s a reason Dante and Couisnard scored all but 2 of the teams’ points in the second half and both OT’s. Just take away one of those injuries and Oregon probably wins.

This team exceeded expectations with all the injuries it sustained. Within a whisker of the Sweet 16. It was right there, but couldn’t close it out. Hopefully Mookie and KJ stick. You see how much elder players make a difference (see Kentucky), so some older players will be needed in the portal.

Incredible run. Guess 2 v 5 basketball can only take you so far - no matter how talented those two are.

Real shame Shelstad and Evans weren’t a year older. If they were even nominally stronger and more confident and this team could have been special.

Still, some incredible moments down the stretch that’ll earn Dante and Couisnard the legacy they deserve.

Lastly, what Altman got out of this team…. Legendary. Hey basketball gods, just once could we give him a healthy team?
