Any truth to the rumors about Locklyn and Ohio State?

It's interesting. Guess we'll hear more tomorrow. Anyone watching Locklyn's follows/followers?

I'm watching a live yt broadcast and the host, a OH ST guy, is talking about Locklyn like it's a done deal. At this point I feel like it would be a huge W if he had his own "the grass is damn green in Eugene" moment.

This would really suck after he just signed his new extension and with spring drills starting up again this week. Hope we don't lose any of our RBs because of it. Edit: Looks like he waited until tomorrow since his buyout drops from $766K to around $366K.

Brutal. Him and Junior Adams are my favorite position coaches.

This is bizarre, something shady must be going on at Ohio State between Chip Kelly and Locklyn.

There's a good chance his salary will be about 50-100% more than he's making here.

Why hasn't it happened yet I figured I would have woken up to actual news.

There is likely nothing shady going on- it's the new world order in college football. He will probably be making more money and he grew up in Tennessee so it's a chance for him to be closer to his roots.

Is it a lateral move? Hard to say.

This happens every day in the business world, people take jobs at other organizations because they are offered more money.

Maybe he wants to go to the NFL. There are 'whispers' in Columbus that if Day does not beat UM and make the CFP this year he will bolt for the NFL and Chip would likely go with him. Insiders at UCLA speculated that Chip left UCLA and went with Day because both ultimately want to be in the NFL. Maybe that's Lock's longer term goal and maybe he feels there is a better chance of that at tOSU than at Oregon.

Not saying I have any insights or inside scoop, just trying to look at it realistically.

Lol, what could possibly be considered shady?

We lost our hype man!

He coached some good RB's. Coach Lanning really boosted his career by hiring him and this is how he repays us :?

99.9% of this board would probably take ~$650k over $400k. It's part of the business. And Ohio State is a great RB college, like Oregon.

It is a bummer, but Oregon has been producing fairly consistently elite RBs for over 2 decades now. No reason we can't do that with whoever is the next man up.
