Re: Droughns Gone
This was bound to happen. Jacobs, Ward, and Bradshaw are a prefect trio of backs.

Droughns sure was a flash in the pan. It is weird how quickly his numbers diminished.

Dude you need to rename this thread...how abiout Droughns Released! When I first saw it I thought what the hell happened to him?
I think someone will pick him up but RBs don't have a long shelf life in the NFL...but good luck to him!

I think that if you can stick around for 10 years in the NFL, you've had a successful career. He's made enough money to last him a lifetime, but it would be nice to see him go to a team where he could be more of a contributor. I always thought he would post better numbers in the NFL, but he's been places that have been stacked at RB (Denver and NYG.) The one stop he had where he was the #1 back was in Cleveland and that is when he put up some of his best numbers. He'll find some value as a backup and possible a short-yardage back.briarduck wrote:Dude you need to rename this thread...how abiout Droughns Released! Re: Droughns Gone
I gotta tell you guys saying that he was a "flash in the pan" something...he WAS the main reason that Denver had such success running the ball while he was there. He very well could have been one of the best all around fullbacks in the league at the time. They knew he could run, and did pretty regulary out of the fb position. When he got his chance, he took it. He had already ben in the league for a number of years, and his conditioning was completely different for tb than it was for rb. The switch took a toll.
At this point, if he never plays another down, he will leave the league being known as a SOLID NFL player with a STRONG career. No flash in the pan here.

^Holy cow how time fly's...I thought it was only 5-6 years. I agree with your thoughts RD had a great career considering most RBs only last about 4-5 years!
Sorry guys I'm getting older and losing track of time...funny! And no I'm not that old, yet!
I bet he gets picked up though because I think his name still carries weight!

Re: Droughns Gone
He might end up at the Lions. They only have Kevin Smith. Droughns would be a good pick up for them. For his sake, I hope it doesn't happen.

Re: Droughns Gone
Dang sucks to see Droughns get cut. Speaking of duck RBs, I don't get why MoMo doesn't get more touches for Seattle. Their other RB, Jones, was unimpressive.

Re: Droughns Gone
Doubt Droughns goes to the lions, they had him for 2 years, and didnt use him much.
MoMo was out with a knee issue fro 5 games last year. When he was back at near 100% he was getting the load of the carries.

Re: Droughns Gone
Droughns will get picked up by team who need insurance on RB or really in NEED for one.
