Honestly. Neither defense stands any chance at all.Biggus Duckus wrote:We don't really do defensive substitutions mid-drive, they usually take turns on the drives.
Because of this I think our defense stands a much better chance than Auburn's.

Re: Oregon vs Auburn National Championship Thread
It is in all likelihood going to be the biggest shootout of all time, it might come down to the last drive and whichever defense can get 2-3 stops could determine the winner. It would be crazy if it ends up being a defensive battle.

Almost never fails when there is a match up like this and people are expecting an epic shootout. The final score is like 13 to 14. I really dont know what to expect though.gofightingducks wrote:It is in all likelihood going to be the biggest shootout of all time, it might come down to the last drive and whichever defense can get 2-3 stops could determine the winner. All I really know is if they score 13 we need to score 14 if they score 100 we need to score 101.

I was telling my dad this also. Everyone's expecting a high scoring game, but it'd be funny if it was kept in the low teens like you said.brich75 wrote:Almost never fails when there is a match up like this and people are expecting an epic shootout. Not sure many outsiders would find it too entertaining though, but who cares?

Re: Oregon vs Auburn National Championship Thread
Of course i want the ducks to win. But i want the game to be an
epic battle. Down to the end. I want all the experts to talk about
this game for years to come. Of course a game to the end will again
cause another trip to er. ha ha.. I just don't see this as a game in
the teens. Two high powered offense's and athletes all over the field.
It will come down i think to special teams and mistakes. Either way
both teams will come to play. The coaches will I'm sure throw a few
curves at each other. I just hope for a well played game, and good
sports on both sides. We as well as auburn will be on display.

Looks like Under Armour just can't stand it that Nike is debuting something new for the title game. They had to make sure their cleats got out first. Let me know if this doesn't load for you & I'll upload it separately.

You never know. The Ducks were down 21-3 to Stanford and still won by three touchdowns. Stanford has an excellent defense too.greenyellow wrote:I think you could say the same thing with Oregon, as I don't see Auburn losing a 24-0 lead either.Icculus wrote:Auburn cannot get behind like we did in the Iron Bowl. While I have faith in our defense, I just can't see us coming back from a 24-0(or something similar) deficit against Oregon. UO would have to collapse much like 'Bama did, and I don't think that's going to happen.
The team who makes the most mistakes loses.
That being said, I hope we don't have to find out.

Yeah, I certainly don't want a game in the 40's or 50's, but somewhere along the lines of a 37-34 game would be exciting.duckfan22 wrote:Of course i want the ducks to win. Maybe a "Cliff Harris is Gonna Score!" deal like Kenny Wheaton did.
Ducks are up 37-32 with .13 left and Auburn 3rd & Goal at the Oregon 8 Yard line. Cam Newton back to pass, looking for Michael Dyer in the flat, the pass is - Intercepted!...Intercepted by Cliff Harris! Harris to the 50, the 40, Cliff Harris is Gonna Score!...Cliff Harris is Gonna Score!...The 10, The 5, Touchdown Oregon!...Touchdown Oregon!...Cliff Harris!!!!!
Wishful thinking.
Hey...it "could" happen.

If we throw in on 3rd down near the goal line it will be to Lutz.SuperDuck wrote:Yeah, I certainly don't want a game in the 40's or 50's, but somewhere along the lines of a 37-34 game would be exciting.duckfan22 wrote:Of course i want the ducks to win. I was just recreating a play from a game against our hated rivals, the Washington Huskies. Time was running out and they were going in for the winning score. This is one of the most famous plays in Oregon football history. Here's the video below. It's only 30 seconds long.

With my Omac comment, I was just playing. Not going to speak for WarEagle, but I'm assuming he was as well. Even though both of our statements are most likely true. Dyer only has one reception this year.SuperDuck wrote:Hi Guys,WarEagle wrote:If we throw in on 3rd down near the goal line it will be to Lutz.SuperDuck wrote:Yeah, I certainly don't want a game in the 40's or 50's, but somewhere along the lines of a 37-34 game would be exciting.duckfan22 wrote:Of course i want the ducks to win. That pick 6 was a good play, by the way. Love turnovers that immediately result in 6.
