ruh-roh Scooby:

McGough comes into the 9th with a 6-2 lead, gets an out, gives up a single, gets another out, loads the bases, then hits the next batter.

6-3 Oregon. Based juiced. 2 outs.

Popped up to short, Ducks win!

McGough with the save. A scary save, but a save nonetheless.

He just needs some innings to get his feet under him. May not have been pretty but he'll probably have it cleaned up soon.

Shouldn't be too long with him out, but does suck to lose his hitting and steadiness. Lots of depth at catcher, but really unproven.

Wouldn't be a bad thing since we need all the pitching we can get with the offense struggling. Going to be without Marder and Sabol from the line-up so it means some others are going to have to step it up.

Surprised that he's been one of the most consistent hitters, considering he's a true freshman.
I know, to come in and be this successful as Oregon's leadoff hitter is seriously impressive. Much needed especially with KC Serna out for a good chunk of the beginning of our season.

Marder had a pretty good day at the plate last night, but he's been struggling pretty badly prior, and defensively, he's a terrible catcher. Hope he gets back soon because I think he'll turn it around offensively, but with Hambright and Karraker behind the plate, our passed ball problems will hopefully cease.

It's too bad that our infield is so set that Marder is forced behind the plate, where he is seriously not up to par with what Rodriguez did last season. But just putting him at DH is not ideal also.

I'd throw him in left, myself. He was a good right fielder last year and left has been a black hole for us. Hoffman's not quite ready to hit D-1 pitching, based on early returns.

Did Mendenhall just commit a Cardinal Sin?

I believe the first 2 guys in the 2nd went out on first pitches. If Mendy also was a one-pitch out ( he should at least take one pitch to avoid the jinx - the pitchers' dream - a 3-pitch inning. TABOO, I TELL YA!!!!
