You've got to love the timing of this: Kiffin is in court this Monday with the Raiders deposition:

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/11497015

The whole state of Tennessee is aware of this and of the "pile" that Kiffin has already accumulated while at Tennessee, and Brown has to be aware of it too. If he chooses to ignore it all and go there, those actions will speak louder than words.

Yeah, how ironic. I would rather see Brown go to Miami than Tennessee.

You guys saying that Tennessee is a bad program that has no shot of winning are kidding yourselves. Tennessee had a down year last season, but they'll be very good again soon. Kiffen may be a tool, but he put together a great staff, they've got talent on the roster and always bring in a good class, and have all the resources behind them. They're one of the top programs in the SEC and will be competing for the SEC championship year in and year out again very soon as long as Kiffin doesn't get in the way of the rest of his staff.

I know this isn't what people on this board want to hear, but it's the truth. That being said Oregon is a much better location for Brown and he'd be a fool to pick the Vols

True, but I would say that Oregon has a better chance of winning the pac-10 over the next 4 years than Tennessee does the SEC. Is that fair to say? Oregon has been closer to a national championship recently with less talent than the Vols.

With Urban at UF, Saban at Bama and Miles at LSU.. I'm sorry, UT will need some time to catch up IMO more than a couple of seasons. After Kiffen loses 3 straight to UF, he'll be fired..

I wouldn't disagree with that at all, what I'm saying is that Tennessee is a very good program that's had a few down years. They'll be back, probably pretty soon. Keep in mind that from BB's perspecitve the Vols have better TV coverage (CBS & ESPN) and would get to be a part of the annual lovefest that the national media has for all things SEC.

Like I said in the previous post, all that being said The O is still the best place for him both in terms of winning and in terms of personal success.

I was really bummed out when I first heard about Al Davis kicking Lane Kiffin out of Oakland because I thought Al was just being his old crazy self. Since Lane has taken the job at Tennesse I have realized what a great desicon that Al Davis made. Lane is a tool x1000. I feel sorry for the folks in Tennesse for hiring him cause he can bring all the hope and promise of the NFL dream in the world but he isnt going to fix that program. With all the great teams in the SEC Tennesse is destined to fail. Im glad he is done screwing the Raiders though. If Brown decides to go their then oh well. Lane Kiffin has joined a program and made a complete idiot of himself in the matter of months. If Bryce Brown cant see that then he is as lost as Kiffin is.
I'm a life long Raider fan as well and I agree 100%...being a Raider ain't easy these days and getting rid of LK was a good choice (after the fact as you say)!

I know I said something in either this thread or another but I was more referring to the best choice for BB but I have to agree with the above UT is historically a great program but they haven't been lately they lose to a lot of very average teams lately and have no running game (and not for lack of talent)! But I also realize that I don't follow them that closely and that I may be just a little biased  ...

Take a look at this stat. Records since 2000:

Tennessee: 76-38

Oregon: 77-35

Oregon has also had 3 top 10 finishes. That's still a solid record for Tennessee, but they get too much credit because it's the SEC.

the fact that you can weigh all the pros and cons of every school. It still comes down to the attractive college co-ed a couple years older.

Makes me not feel that old. It is the same as it was 20 years ago.

I feel the same way. I miss football in the offseason. The back and forth at least gives me something football related to follow and think about. If things don't go our way with a particular recruit, it really isn't that big of deal. Others go our way and the games still happen next season right on schedule.

For those that get fed up with it, think of it this way: losing a recruit isn't like losing a game. It's like not converting on 3rd down. We're still going to get the ball back! :)

I disagree. UT is not a top program in the SEC right now. They have been in the past. But, they are mid-tier at best right now. I will be surprised if they beat anyone from this list next year: Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU or Alabama. That's 5 near-guaranteed losses right there. They will be 50/50 at best beating these teams: South Carolina, Auburn, UCLA.

Brown presumably wants to be a 3 year and out player. He would have a snowball's chance in hell to see an SEC championship, let a lone an NC game within 3 years, given the current state of UT football.

To bank on the possibility that Kiffin will turn around UT from where they are at in 3 years is just a huge gamble. No matter how slick Kiffin's pitch presumably is, the tangibles just are not there to make that a sound investment for a running back that could go to any team in the nation. UT might be a good gamble/choice for a second tier runningback looking up. But, it's a huge liability for the #1 back.

Good grief. This VSPN dude at volnation that apparently has Brown talking to him has got to be the biggest drama queen wannabe I've seen in a forum. I'm usually pretty patient with some extreme internet personalities. But, man, the guy is just milking his position on this for attention like it's an olympic sport. Brown could not have chosen a nuttier character to confide in.

I don't trust anyone, quite frankly, until they've earned. I would assume Lacey is the same as me, she is getting asked a lot of questions right now and she is careful, especially after her mistake, who she is honest with.

Trust me, and no, I'm not looking for pity or attention, but it's a heavy burdon to have information that everyone wants, that you are excited to have and would love to pass along, but can't. In my case, I choose not to lie, but rather to just not answer some things. Everyone reacts differently.

interesting note from a Vol fan at their practice yesterday:

"i saw him on the field for a total of about 10 minutes then he left fwiw. And he was just chatting with lace and some dude. He didnt want to be seen imo. He sure didnt look like a guy who was analyzing our practice"

could be construed as good news, could mean nothing at all, but I would lean towards (and hope) the former based on the kind of kid he seems to be.

Tennessee's offense last year was dismal. A bunch of good freshman coming in isn't going to fix that. Look at Chris Harper and Terrell Pryor: two of the most NCAA ready kids and they were very raw. Kiffin is going to be on a short leash if they don't go bowling next year. One poster in here mentioned Saban at Bama, Urban at Florida & Miles at LSU. I would throw in Ole Miss and Georgia. Brown may be a phenom but he cannot single handedly bring Tennesse back from a 5-7 season where they lost to UCLA. They have a quarterback problem, an offensive line problem, and they're wide receiving corp is subpar. The former, the quarterback problem, is their most glaring weakness and from the write-ups I've read, won't be fixed by next year.

All in all, go to a team that has been a circus with Kiffin or go to the stable program that cranks out one of the best offenses year in and year out. The burden to produce will not be there. We will have one of the best offenses regardless of Brown. I think God will show him green and yellow during his fasting and praying.
