Might We Add Another WR?

Post by Mops »

Its sounding like former Oregon target Emory Blake, 4* WR on Rivals has decommitted from Texas Tech and is opening things back up. Now I have no solid info on what is going on with what schools and such, just posting this as a heads up. We have offered and he still has 2 more visits. Bad part, hes tripped and enjoyed his visit to Colorado....

Rivals main board guys are saying the same thing.
Eric Ward just decom'd from Choklahoma and com'd to TTech.
Next day Emory opens it up. Right now the hot name is Colorado, would make sense if they know they are not getting DJ.
I don't know could be interesting.

Very nice thought! I didnt put two and two together until you just said that and it really makes more sense now why Colorado might be the choice for Blake...Jackson isnt coming...so Hawkins goes and steals another schools recruit..lol

Don't know how many of you guys have been to Boulder but its an awesome college town. I can see why it has so much appeal to these guys. I"ve never seen their facilities and wouldn't think they could compare to UO, but as far as the city itself its really nice.

That part is true, but they have had a lousy team in terms of on the field results recently.

New article from Rivals
http://oregon.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=899969

Does Blake still consider himself a Red Raider commit?

"Not really," he replied. "It is still a possibility that I could go to Texas Tech but I really like CU. I still also really like Texas Tech."

Blake has also been in recent contact with coaches from Boston College and Auburn.

it took me a while to kind of get down to these last two schools (Texas Tech and Colorado) and I don't really want to be anymore confused than I already am."

NO mention of Oregon anywhere in the article, not really looking past those schools and maybe BC, maybe. Probably no shot. I guess one way or another CU is going to get them a 4* WR from somewhere.

Another thing CU has going for its football program is the venue that their stadium is in...

It is literally in the middle of campus. Rather than having to trek over a river or a 5 minute drive to Autzen, you can literally be walking through campus, go through one door, and be hit with the vision of a beautiful bowled football stadium, it really is quite an experience.

Now, how much that has to do w/ kids final choices I'm not sure, but I can say that as a student choosing between Oregon and Colorado, that definitely had an impression on me...

The last time I checked, Boise is actually way better after Hawkins left and more explosive on offense. And now at CU, Hawkins is floundering with a very poor passing game, yet this guy gets WR's interested from all over the place. Either Boulder sells itself, or this guy is slick as oil.

Just another reason why recruiting is so interesting for me. Something like this is a perfect example. A guy not even on Oregon's radar anymore could play a huge role in where another of our recruits goes.
