Horton made it sound like Heineman's foot injury will keep him out the rest of the year. Oregon can't stand too many more injuries if they want to maintain their current playing level.

loved heineman's defense, but his bat really, really fell off the last 6 weeks. he could still take a walk (his obp is actually pretty phenomenal compared to his batting average), so there's that, but i'm intrigued by thomas walker at 3B. he won the job outright in the offseason, but committed a couple errors in hawaii and heineman got off to such a hot start he never got his spot back. he's a big kid with some pop.

alto plays amazing defense and can sometimes hit. i've voiced my displeasure with him batting lead off before. don't get me wrong, i hope he's back soon. i don't think we have anyone who comes close to replacing him. i guess kevin shephard will give it a try.

aaron jones and brando tessar are obviously the big ones. jones goes without saying. tessar's been outstanding for a sunday starter. i would go as far as giving the closing duties to joey housey and moving sherfy to sundays if tessar is out for any length of time. we're in bad shape if we have to start throwing jeff gold or jordan spencer on sundays.
