Rated as the 2nd best kicker in the country by Chris Sailer
Matt is a phenomenal kicking prospect. He has the strongest leg in the nation and kicks effortlessly off the ground. Kickoffs are tops in the nation and ready for D1 ball right now. Punting is also at the D1 level. A great athlete with an even better attitude. The sky is the limit. A D1 Scholarship Pick without a doubt. Expect big things in the future from Matt. One of the best all around players that we have had in years. Huge pick up for Oregon!

“If everybody in this room just want to be real with themselves, this game could have went either way,” he said. “We turned the ball over a lot. We beat ourself. Just be real with yourself right now. We beat ourself.”
-Jameis Winston after Oregon's decisive 59-20 victory over Florida State in the Rose Bowl
I can remember a few instances that you could kinda tell Chip might have wanted to kick, but didn't trust the leg of the kicker. He takes chances on 4th down, but a couple of downs with distance he might opt for 3 if it was more of a sure thing.
I think it's safe to say this kid might handle that 38 yarder... His 70+ yard kickoffs are nuts. There's a 66 yard punt in there, too. 4.8 second hang time on a 41 yarder.
yes Maldanado missed that 38 yarder against usc, but to lay the whole season on him? I dont see that. Lots of ifs in there. Should he have made it ...yup. But it would be nice to see a kicker that had the leg of Siegel in a Oregon uniform again.
